Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks Game 3 Prediction, NBA Odds

The Phoenix Suns are coming off their largest win of the 2022 postseason ahead of Game 3 with the Dallas Mavericks, a series that now moves over to Texas. The reigning West champions defeated Dallas 129-109 Wednesday night to take complete care of business at home and grab a 2-0 series lead. Phoenix has now won four straight playoff games after splitting their first four. The Mavericks are now 4-4 in the postseason and need to turn things around quick.

Tip-off at American Airlines Center Friday goes at 9:30 p.m. EDT, with the line at a pick’em and the over-under listed at 219.5 on the NBA odds.

Suns vs. Mavericks NBA Playoffs Betting Odds

The Suns made it 11 consecutive victories over the Mavericks after taking Game 2, and are 9-2 against the spread in those games. When clashing in Dallas, Phoenix is 9-1 ATS in their last 10 meetings. But the good news for Mavericks backers is Dallas is 8-1 outright in their last nine home games.

Game 2 went way over the total of 217.5, and marked the third straight over for Phoenix. As a result the spread is again slightly higher for the next game in this series as each of their first two have eclipsed 230 points when the total was below 220.

Phoenix Suns

Point guard Chris Paul scored half of his 28 points in a 40-point fourth quarter for Phoenix that turned Game 2 into a blowout victory. Paul added eight assists and six rebounds in what was a truly dominant performance, shooting 11 for 16 from the field as well. Devin Booker had a game-high 30 points on an efficient night, also making 11 field goals but in 19 attempts.

The Suns went 49 for 76 from the field for a 64.5 made shot percentage. Phoenix also knocked down 13 of 25 threes, led by Booker’s five for eight from the arc. It begs the question: how do you knock off a healthy Suns team?

Dallas Mavericks

Luka Doncic again led Dallas in all of points, rebounds, and assists Wednesday with a 35, five, and seven night on 13 of 22 shooting from the field. Doncic also had half of Dallas’ 14 turnovers. Reggie Bullock had a nice night with 16 points, but after Doncic and Bullock, no Mavericks player recorded over 11 points.

Offence wasn’t the issue though; Dallas actually held a two-point lead at the half but then were outscored 71-49 in the second half and as mentioned above, let Phoenix shoot a ridiculous 64.5 per cent from the field. The Mavericks allowed the second-fewest points in the NBA this season but so far in this series it’s been the first-place Suns flexing their muscles on offence with 250 total points.
