Cardinals vs. Seahawks Point Spread: NFL Predictions, Week 16 Odds
The Seattle Seahawks suddenly find themselves in the driver’s seat for top spot in the NFC West – and they’re in good position to strengthen their chances of winning the division title as they host lowly Arizona on Sunday. The Seahawks come into Week 16 tied with San Francisco at 11-3, but have a leg up in the tiebreaker by virtue of a 27-24 win over the 49ers in Week 10 and will host the hotly-anticipated rematch next week.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Seahawks are deserving home favourites in their second meeting of the season with the Cardinals, who dropped a 27-10 decision in Week 4. But while there should be plenty of action on the Seattle moneyline, it’s worth noting that Arizona is 5-1-1 ATS in its past seven road games and 9-4-1 ATS in its previous 14 games as an underdog. Seattle, on the other hand, has covered just two of its last seven games at CenturyLink Field.
Oddsmakers like the offensive potential of this Week 16 matchup, placing the total in the low-50s. And the Seahawks have been an incredibly profitable Over play by just about any metric, having gone 8-2 O/U in their last 10 games against teams with losing records and 13-5 O/U in their previous 18 vs. NFC opponents. The teams have also exceeded the total in each of their previous four meetings in Seattle, averaging 59.3 combined points in that span.
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals’ fell flat in their prior setback to the Seahawks, producing just 321 yards of offence while going 3-for-9 on third down. Some things have changed since then; most notably, David Johnson is out and Kenyan Drake has taken over as the lead running back. He’s coming off an incredible four-TD rushing effort last week. But rookie quarterback Kyler Murray has struggled of late with three touchdowns and five interceptions over his last three games.
Seattle Seahawks
The Russell Wilson MVP chatter has died down – because Lamar Jackson, of course – but he’s still the main reason why the Seahawks have stormed into prime position to lock up the NFC West crown. Wilson enters the penultimate game of the regular season with 3,708 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and only five interceptions – but like Murray, he has had a rough go of it in recent games, throwing six TDs against four interceptions in his past five games.
