The top two teams in each group will advance, as will the four best third-place teams across every group.

Player to Watch: Midfielder Eden Hazard has recently found his form again and he is widely considered to be Belgium’s most impactful player.
Belgium is currently the top-ranked team in the world, and many believe they are in an excellent position to make a very deep run at Euro 2016. At +1000, they are the team with the fifth best odds to win the entire tournament. Belgium’s young roster looks competitive, with midfielders Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard leading the team in goals scored with five each during the qualifying games.
Italy
Euro 2016 odds: +1600
FIFA Ranking: 15
All-time Records v. Group Members:
Record against Belgium: W13 – D4 – L4
Record against Republic of Ireland: W8 – D3 – L2

Player to Watch: Captain and goaltender Gigi Buffon is the most capped player in the Italian national team’s history with 156 caps.
Italy finished 7-3-0 with 24 points, winning their qualification group, which was their ninth time in a row topping their group qualification.Even though Italy has gone to the finals of the Euro Championship three times in the past, their recent 4-1 loss to Germany and 3-1 loss to Belgium make them the second odds favorite at +1600 in this group behind Belgium. Their greatest strength is in defense, conceding just seven goals in the qualifying.
Sweden
Euro 2016 odds: +9900
FIFA Ranking: 35
All-time Records v. Group Members:
Record against Belgium: W5 – D2 – L8
Record against Italy: W6 – D6 – L10
Record against Republic of Ireland: W5 – D2 – L3
Player to Watch: Zlatan Ibrahimović. This might be the last Euro Cup for the 34-year-old, and he is expected to carry this team, if they make it past this round. “He invents moves that don’t exist in the material world,” wrote novelist Bjorn Ranelid, “and they are done like jazz improvisations on the pitch.”
Sweden is currently listed at +9900 because this particular roster of players aren’t considered to be very strong contenders, only narrowly defeating Denmark in the play-offs. They will have their best chance against the Republic of Ireland, who are listed below them at +14900. Sweden’s best result in their Euro history was making it to the semi-finals in 1992, and they’ve missed out on the last two World Cup finals.
Republic of Ireland
Euro 2016 odds: +14900
FIFA Ranking: 31
All-time Records v. Group Members:
Record against Belgium: W3 – D5 – L5
Record against Italy: W2 – D3 – L8
Record against Sweden: W3 – D2 – L5
Player to Watch: Shane Long was the most valuable player in his team’s defeat of Germany in the qualifying, so there’s hope that he could continue to shine in the group stage.
Ireland has twice made it to the quarterfinals of a major tournament, losing to Spain in EURO 1964 and Italy in the 1990 World Cup. This team got pretty lucky in the playoff round, having to only beat Bosnia 2-0 and then get a shocker of a 1-0 win over Germany to earn their spot in the group stage. Ireland is nothing if not a persistent squad, and if they can get past Sweden, it will be because of their tenacity.
