The World Cup Round of 32 continues on Monday, June 29, and we have a firecracker matchup to end the day, as the Netherlands take on Morocco at Estadio BBVA in Monterrey. Ronald Koeman’s team topped Group F, reeling off three wins, including a commanding 5-1 demolition of Sweden, to finish with nine points.

Morocco were every bit as impressive in Group C, finishing second on seven points behind Brazil. This is the kind of knockout match the expanded 48-team format was built to produce, so let’s get into my Netherlands vs. Morocco predictions.

Netherlands FIFA World Cup Odds and News

The Oranje have been one of the tournament’s most convincing sides through three group games. After being held to a 2-2 draw by Japan in the opener, Koeman’s side responded with a 5-1 win over Sweden, with Brian Brobbey and Cody Gakpo each finding the net twice and substitute Crysencio Summerville adding a late fifth. Against Tunisia, the Dutch were clinical from the opening whistle, conceding a fluky consolation but otherwise never in danger, winning 3-1 to seal top spot in Group F.

The squad is loaded with Premier League quality, and Brobbey has made himself the story of the group stage with three goals from two starts. The pre-tournament loss of Xavi Simons to a ruptured ACL hurt, but Donyell Malen has played well out wide, and the Dutch have multiple weapons up front. Virgil van Dijk leads one of the tournament’s most organized defences, as they allowed 2.2 xG in the group stage.

Morocco FIFA World Cup Odds and News

Morocco’s path through Group C was anything but smooth, but they showed exactly the kind of character that gets teams deep into tournaments. Their opener against Brazil ended 1-1, with Ismael Saibari scoring a superb dink over Alisson to give the Atlas Lions the lead before the Selecao equalized. A composed 1-0 victory over Scotland followed, again featuring Saibari. Their final group match against Haiti was more of a scare than anyone expected, as they trailed twice before rallying to win 4-2.

Manager Mohamed Ouahbi, who replaced the departing Walid Regragui just three months before the tournament, has handled the transition well. The squad leans on experience where it matters most: Yassine Bono between the posts, Achraf Hakimi driving forward at right-back, and Brahim Diaz providing creativity up front. The one concern heading is the concession of two to Haiti, suggesting the defensive focus that defined Morocco’s 2022 run has slipped under the new regime.

Netherlands vs. Morocco Player Odds and Props

  • Brian Brobbey (NED) to Score (+270): Morocco’s defence is better than anything the Sunderland striker faced in the group stage, but his aerial ability from corners and crosses gives the Netherlands a threat that is difficult to neutralize.
  • Ismael Saibari (MAR) 3+ Shots (+145): The PSV attacker has scored in all three group games and recorded 10 shots in the group stage, so I expect more of the same.

FIFA World Cup 2026 Bracket and Futures

The Netherlands enter the knockout stage with just +1400 odds to win the World Cup, the seventh-shortest in the field. Morocco are a longer shot at +4500 but are widely respected as a team capable of a deep run.

The winner of this match advances to the Round of 16, where they will face either South Korea or Canada. Both sides will view this as a winnable draw and will likely be cautious early, knowing a loss ends the tournament immediately.

Netherlands vs. Morocco Score Prediction

Best bet: Both teams to score (-105)

This match is too close to pick a side. Both teams have shown they can find the net, and neither defence has been airtight. Morocco gave up two to Haiti, and the Dutch conceded twice to Japan and once to Tunisia and Sweden. Brobbey’s movement and Gakpo’s directness should trouble Ouahbi’s back four, while Saibari and Brahim Diaz have enough quality to threaten Verbruggen at least once.
