FIFA World Cup Day 9 Betting Parlay Picks: Can Brazil right the ship against Haiti?

Friday’s schedule closes out in San Francisco with Turkey and Paraguay each fighting for their first points of the tournament.

United States vs. Australia – Group D

It’s the top two teams in Group D set to clash in Seattle on Friday afternoon. The Americans have a firm grasp on top spot in the group thanks to a dominant 4-1 win over Paraguay on Matchday 1, while the Aussies are also in contention to win the group because of a 2-0 win over Turkey.
As good as the Americans played in their opener, let’s remember it was against a much weaker Paraguayan squad and they still couldn’t keep a clean sheet. There’s also injury concerns with Christian Pulisic, so I think Australia finds a way to break through and salvage a point.

Scotland vs. Morocco – Group C

Scotland opened the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Haiti to grab sole possession of top spot in Group C, while Morocco settled for a 1-1 draw in a heavyweight tilt against Brazil. The main question now is, will Scottish fans drink the city of Boston dry by kickoff on Friday?
This will be a much tougher test for the Tartan Army as Morocco is No. 6 in the FIFA World Rankings. The Atlas Lions likely deserved a better result against Brazil after completing 123 passes in the final third, the most of any Group C team, and they know they need points against Scotland. Morocco will win this game and jump to the top of the group.

It’s the top-ranked team in Group C versus the bottom-ranked team as powerhouse Brazil gets ready to face massive underdog Haiti.
Neymar won’t suit up in this game, but Brazil is still loaded with talent, led by Vinicius Junior, who scored the team’s lone goal in the tournament opener. Brazil certainly weren’t at their best against Morocco, but this can be viewed as a ‘get-right’ game. Haiti showed nothing against Scotland that suggests they can keep this game close.

Turkey vs. Paraguay – Group D

It’s the battle of the Group D losers from Matchday 1 as Turkey and Paraguay each look to right the ship in San Francisco. With the U.S. and Australia winning their first games, Turkey and Paraguay will likely need to qualify as a third-place team, so securing three points is crucial.
Turkey open as short favourites as the more talented side in this game behind the likes of Arda Guler, Kenan Yildiz, Baris Yilmaz and Kerem Akturkoglu. They’ll likely go with the same formation that saw them hold the edge over Australia in shots (28-8), shots on target (7-4) and possession (63 per cent to 37 per cent), so I expect a better result against a Paraguayan side that was rocked by the United States.
