The Scots have taken over Boston! The feel-good times experienced by those clad in kilts may be coming to a swift end on Friday. That’s when Scotland, currently top of Group C after a 1-0 triumph over Haiti, face off against Morocco at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough at 6 p.m. ET.

John McGinn deflected a shot off a Haitian defender in the 26th minute for the winner in their group opener on Saturday. It was Scotland’s first World Cup win in 36 years, and their first World Cup appearance since 1998.

Now, Scotland and its popular Tartan Army get the seventh-ranked Moroccans, who battled to a 1-1 draw with Brazil in their World Cup opener.

Morocco became the first African side to reach the semifinals of a World Cup four years ago, and coach Mohamed Ouahbi’s side is poised to make a similar run this time around.

Scotland FIFA World Cup Odds and News

Scotland recorded just its fourth win in 23 career World Cup matches. They certainly did not dominate the Haitians, as both teams posted a 1.05 xG. However, Scott McTominay, the 2024/25 Serie A Player of the Year at Napoli, did clip the top of the post in an attempt to double the lead.

The win did not significantly improve the team’s odds of winning Group C. Brazil and Morocco are still the favourites, with Scotland currently at +550.

The expectation is that it will lose to both Morocco and Brazil, so the question is whether coach Steve Clarke’s side can minimize the scoring damage to possibly advance with a solid goal differential.

Morocco FIFA World Cup Odds and News

The Atlas Lions are making their third straight appearance at the World Cup. Four years ago, they knocked off Belgium, Spain, and Portugal en route to the semifinals. They drew with the mighty Brazilians in the only matchup between top-10-ranked sides in the group stage.

Long story short, the moment will not be too big for reigning CAF Men’s Player of the Year Achraf Hakimi and company on Friday.

The Moroccans are +240 to win Group C after the first round of games. Brazil is still the undisputed favourite, but these are attractive odds for a side that should have no problem in its final two games.

Morocco currently reports no major new injuries either.

Scotland vs. Morocco Player Odds and Props

Angus Gunn made two saves against Haiti. Look for him to be considerably busier against Morocco. He is +115 to make 4+ saves on Friday.

Ismael Saibari scored in the 21st minute to give Morocco the lead against Brazil, and he is the team’s favourite to find the back of the net again on Friday at +190.

World Cup 2026 Bracket and Futures

While Brazil is the favourite to win the group, Morocco is favoured to finish as the runner-up at +100. Scotland is next in line at +220. Those are your best bets there, as Brazil is not expected to falter.

Morocco is currently +250 to reach the quarterfinals and +550 to advance to the semifinals again.

Thanks to its win over Haiti, Scotland, making its ninth World Cup appearance, is now -575 to advance out of the Group Stage for the first time ever.

Scotland vs. Morocco Score Prediction

The Tartan Army narrative is fantastic, and Scotland is certainly game to steal a point or three, but Morocco looked dissatisfied at the final whistle against Brazil, not satisfied. Unfortunately, Scotland will have to pay the price. Take Morocco to win 2-0.
