Dallas Stars vs. Edmonton Oilers Prediction, NHL Odds
The Edmonton Oilers look to tally consecutive home wins for the first time this month when they return to Rogers Place to face the Dallas Stars in Tuesday night NHL betting action.
The Oilers wrapped up a seven-game road trip with a 6-3 win in Florida on Saturday, snapping a three-game slide, but have posted just two wins in four November dates and lost four of their past six overall. The Stars are coming off a 3-2 loss in Calgary that snapped a four-game road win streak and have claimed victory in six of their past eight overall.
The Oilers get set to hit the ice as -140 favourites on Tuesday’s NHL odds. The Stars trail as +115 underdogs but are a strong -200 bet on the NHL puckline, and the total is listed at 6.0.
Stars vs. Oilers NHL Betting Odds
These clubs clashed three times last season, with the Stars claiming a pair of victories, but it was the Oilers who prevailed in five games when they battled Dallas in the Western Conference Final for a second straight year.
However, the Stars rebounded with a 4-3 victory when these clubs met in Dallas earlier this month, and have now topped the Oilers in five of seven regular season meetings including victories in two of three at Rogers Place.
Overall, five of their past seven regular season matchups have been settled by just a single goal, with the total reaching 7.0 five times over that stretch. But the Oilers have struggled to keep things close during a sluggish start to the season, falling to defeat by multi-goal margins in four of their past nine and surrendering four or more goals 13 times while compiling a middling 10-9-5 record.
Winners in seven of their past 10 overall to climb into second place in the Central Division standings, the Stars have particularly impressed on the road, compiling a 7-1-3 away record, and have earned at least a point in 14 of their past 16 overall.
Dallas Stars
Jason Robertson maintained his recent torrid pace in Saturday’s visit to Calgary, potting a goal and an assist along with the club’s lone shootout goal in a 3-2 loss. Overall, Robertson has picked up 15 of his 28 points on the season in just the past seven games, tallying 10 goals and five helpers and is worth backing as a +150 bet on the NHL player props to extend his points streak with at least two points on Tuesday night.
However, the Stars will be missing two of their biggest stars on Tuesday. Mikko Rantanen will be unavailable as he serves a one-game suspension after picking up his second game misconduct penalty for boarding in his past three contests on Saturday night. Thomas Harley is also expected the entirety of the Stars’s current four-game road trip due to a lower-body injury.
Edmonton Oilers
After averaging just two goals per game in their three previous outings, the Oilers rediscovered their scoring touch in Saturday’s date with the Panthers. The supporting cast led the way, with Jack Roslovic scoring a pair of goals and rearguard Mattias Ekholm enjoying a three-point night.
Roslovic has emerged as a steady producer while scoring eight times and picking up 13 points in 12 November contests while Ekholm recorded just his second multi-point performance of the season while ending a 12-game goalless drought.
The production from role players comes at time when the team’s two biggest stars have struggled to score. Leon Draisaitl enters Tuesday’s action on a six-game points streak but has scored just once in the past four games while Connor McDavid has found the mark in just two of his past seven outings.
