The Stars saw their two-game winning streak against the Blues come to an end Sunday afternoon, but dating back to the regular season, they have taken seven of the last 11 games against them.
The Stars are 4-1 in their last five games in St. Louis and this has been a road team type match-up overall, with the visitors going 4-1 in the last five games.
Traditionally, these two teams have been under teams (the total) heads up against each other, but in the last six games, the over is 3-1-2. However, in the last six meetings between these two teams in St. Louis, the under has been an impressive 4-1-1.
Dallas Stars
The Stars let a big opportunity slip through their fingers with a 4-1 home loss in game six. Now they’ll have to go to St. Louis to punch their ticket to the conference finals. There is good news though, as Dallas is 4-2 in six road games this post season.
Goaltender Ben Bishop allowed four goals on 20 shots in the game six loss in Dallas. He ended up being pulled not because of bad play, but more of a precaution. Earlier in the game Bishop took a shot from Colton Parayko that caught him on the left collarbone. Head Coach Jim Montgomery was very confident that Bishop would be ready for game seven.
Of note, the Stars are 2-3 in game seven’s since the franchise moved to Dallas.
St. Louis Blues
The Blues continue to be the road warriors for the 2019 post season as they forced a game seven with the Stars by winning in Dallas Sunday afternoon. The Blues are 5-1 on the road this post season, which is a great record. The only problem is, this game is on home ice where the team is 2-4 in six home playoff games this season.
The Blues will have to set the tone early in this game like they did in game six, scoring 63 seconds into the game.
Jaden Schwartz continues to a have the post season of a life-time as he netted his eighth of the playoffs in game six, which is tied for second in the NHL, one behind Logan Couture of the Sharks.
