Ottawa Senators vs. Los Angeles Kings Prediction, NHL Odds
It’s a grind of a road trip as just one opponent shares the same time zone as the Senators. However, it’s off to a great start with consecutive wins entering this one.
Ottawa beat a couple of strong opponents in Anaheim and San Jose last week. But the Sens have their work cut out for them on Monday, facing a solid Kings team that beat them 1-0 just a week ago. Since then, Los Angeles is 0-1-2, and will bring a little added urgency to get back in the win column.
Senators vs. Kings NHL Betting Odds
While the Kings are winless in their last three games, they have points in seven out of their previous nine, including their win over the Senators. There is hardly cause for concern in Los Angeles. A trend the Kings would like to reverse is their weak play at home.
Los Angeles is 1-4-3 at home this season. Ottawa is a respectable 5-3-2 on the road this year including 3-0-2 in their last five. Until or unless they figure something out, the Kings are vulnerable at home. Another home-road split trend between these teams is low game totals. On the NHL odds board, the Under has hit in seven out of the last nine combined Senators road games and Kings home games.
Ottawa Senators
Ottawa has been buzzing lately. October was a bit of a rollercoaster for the Sens. But they are 5-1-3 in November with noticeable improvement on the road. Every Ottawa loss this month has been by just a goal, and those games have still yielded three points.
If the Senators can sustain their recent form, they will give the Kings trouble. At the moment, even when Ottawa isn’t clicking on all cylinders, they are not out of a game. They have also been getting it done by committee, as no Senators player has more than five points in their last five games. It’s a full team effort right now.
Los Angeles Kings
In addition to the Kings’ struggles at home this season, they have been snake-bitten lately. Entering this game, Los Angeles has scored six goals in their last four games. Unfortunately, the lack of offence recently is nothing very new for this team.
The Kings rank 29th in the NHL in goals scored per game. They don’t have any players averaging a point per game, and have seven players with double-digit points to the Senators’ nine. The way each team is playing lately, the Kings will need more than a goal to beat the Senators again.
NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Senators vs. Kings?
Ottawa is a tough fade here. Los Angeles’ offensive deficiencies are a bad matchup for an Ottawa team that has allowed just five goals in their last three games. The Senators needed to clean up their game on the road and collect points to keep pace in the East. They’ve done just that and are in solid form.
Another factor in Ottawa’s favour is their depth. Los Angeles’ top three scorers are Adrian Kempe, Quinton Byfield, and Kevin Fiala, who have combined for four points in their last four games. That will not get the job done against a Senators team that ranks eighth in the league in goals scored per game, and is getting contributions outside of their top six forwards. It’s tough to beat a team twice in a short span. Look for a 4-2 Ottawa revenge win.
