The Oilers ride a seven-game win streak after rolling to a 6-1 win in San Jose on Saturday, but remain two points back of first-place Vegas in the Pacific Division standings despite claiming victory in 16 of 19 contests.

Oilers vs. Avalanche NHL Betting Odds
Tuesday night’s matchup at Ball Arena marks the third and final regular season meeting between these Western Conference powerhouses. The Avalanche eked out one-goal victories in each of this season’s previous two head-to-head clashes, capped by a 6-5 home victory back on February 19. Colorado has taken five of six from the Oilers in regular season action, and have topped Edmonton in four straight on home ice.

That stinginess has been reflected on the scoreboard, where the Oilers have allowed just three total goals over the past five games, fuelling a run of six straight wins by multi-goal margins.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins saw his career-high point total padded with a goal and two assists in Saturday’s victory. He now has 25 points over his past 15 outings. Connor McDavid potted a pair of goals and ended Sunday with three points. McDavid has racked up 27 points during a 14-game points streak.
Colorado Avalanche
For the second time in as many outings, the Avalanche needed a third-period rally to put themselves in a position to win on Sunday. Trailing by two goals midway through the final frame, the Avs forced overtime with power play goals by Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon. Colorado closed out the victory with MacKinnon’s second goal of the game in the extra period. Rantanen’s four-point performance leaves him with 14 points in five outings this month while MacKinnon has recorded seven goals and 12 points over that stretch.
Overall, Colorado has averaged a healthy 4.80 goals per game during their 5-0-0 run. However, this club has faltered at times while losing five of their past nine on home ice, and have averaged just three goals per game over their past four home contests. With their final two regular season games coming against division rivals in the hunt for wild card berths, the Avs will be eager to take advantage of the game they hold in hand on the Dallas Stars, whom they are deadlocked with in the divisional standings.
