Toronto Maple Leafs at Minnesota Wild (-160, 5)

Until Toronto does something to fill their hole at center, their offence could be in real trouble. The Maple Leafs don’t generate many good scoring chances at the best of times, so playing without Tyler Bozak and Dave Bolland is a recipe for disaster. Toronto has scored just one power play goal in its last six games and now faces a Wild team that has just one regulation loss at home this season. The price on the hometown club is a little high, so we’ll play under the total.

Pick: Under

Philadelphia Flyers at Pittsburgh Penguins (-250, 5.5)

There should be no shortage of firepower when the Flyers come off a 5-0 win at Ottawa to visit the Pittsburgh Penguins. Philly still has a long way to go, but Claude Giroux is finally starting to produce a bit, while James Neal is back in the mix for Pittsburgh after a long injury layoff. Sometimes these are tricky matchups that turn into tight-checking affairs, but your best bet here is over the 5.5-goal total. Pittsburgh hasn’t played since Saturday and will be looking to snap a two-game slide. Philadelphia has scored nine goals in its last two games.

Pick: Over 5.5

Dallas Stars at Edmonton Oilers (-110, 5.5)

Oilers management is trying to stay calm, but it’s getting to the point in the year that you could see some drastic changes. This team isn’t tough enough to compete in the Western Conference and still doesn’t seem to grasp Dallas Eakins’ system. Just about every Edmonton superstar has heard their name in trade rumors lately, so that doesn’t do anything for the team’s mental state. Meanwhile, the Stars can be lethal with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin heading the attack and want to get this three-game road swing off on the right foot.

Pick: Stars
