The Toronto Maple Leafs look to close out a three-game Western roar trip on a winning note when they visit the Utah Mammoth on Tuesday night in NHL betting action at Delta Center. The Leafs are coming off a decisive 6-3 win in Colorado on Saturday night, and could claim sole possession of second place in the Atlantic Division with their first back-to-back wins of the season. The Mammoth return home after closing out a five-game road trip with Saturday’s 4-1 win in Buffalo, and now trail Minnesota by just one point in the race for first place in the Central Division standings.

The Maple Leafs travel to Salt Lake City as +135 underdogs on Tuesday’s NHL odds. The Mammoth lead the way as -160 favourites, and the total is listed at 6.5.

Maple Leafs vs. Mammoth NHL Betting Odds

These teams split a pair of games last season, capped by the Mammoth’s lopsided 6-1 home victory on January 13 that marked the club’s first victory over Toronto since the franchise relocated from Arizona over two years ago. With these teams combining to score 7+ goals in each of their past three meetings, the OVER is on a 3-0 run.

The Leafs have picked up at least a point in each of their past three games including a 4-3 shootout loss in Vegas to open their current junket, followed by Saturday’s victory over Colorado. However, the club has yet to post consecutive wins this season and has surrendered almost four goals per game during their current 2-0-1 run, with the OVER cashing in each of those contests.

The Mammoth produced uneven results on their recent Eastern swing, alternating between wins and losses while, going 3-2-0 after opening the campaign with a 6-0 rout of Chicago. The OVER has gone 3-1 in the club’s past four contests, with Utah scoring at least four goals twice over that stretch. Utah enters the new campaign looking to build on last season’s march into playoff contention. Winners of 43 games last season, the Mammoth currently outpace the Maple Leas as a +2500 bet on the Stanley Cup odds, and are viewed with optimism by oddsmakers, who have made them a -130 bet to reach 100 points this season.

Toronto Maple Leafs

For the second time in three games, the Leafs were forced to overcome an early deficit in Saturday’s 6-3 victory over the Avalanche, and once again it was William Nylander leading the attack, potting a pair of goals and adding three assists to maintain his team lead in scoring with five goals and six helpers to date. Auston Matthews also contributed with his second four-point performance in three games and his first multi-goal outing of the campaign. Easton Cowan further strengthened his case with his second goal in as many games and has now tallied five points in six games while prized rookie Gavin McKenna extended his points streak to three games with an assist. The Leafs also hope to have John Tavares back in the lineup after he left the team briefly to return home for the birth of his sone. However, the club will be without Chris Tanev. The veteran rearguard left Saturday’s game with an upper-body injury and has been placed on the IR.

Utah Mammoth

The Mammoth hope to avoid fatigue from their recent five-game road trip back east in Tuesday’s contest. However, those concerns should be eased by the early performance of this club, which has seen 19 skaters who have appeared this season record at least one point. Nick Schmaltz and Clayton Keller have led the charge. Schmaltz potted the game-winner in Saturday’s win over the Sabres to close the out the road trip with five goals and two helpers while Keller added an assist to bring his point total on the team’s recent journey to six. Tuesday’s expected netminder Karel Vejmelka is coming off a steady performance in Buffalo, where he turned aside 23 of the 24 shots he face to improve to 3-1-0 after allowing three goals in each of his previous three outings.
