Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Edmonton Oilers Prediction, NHL Odds
The Oilers have pulled even with the Vancouver Canucks in the divisional standings after claiming wins in five of their past six games, capped by Saturday’s 4-2 victory over the visiting St. Louis Blues. The Lightning opened their current four-game Western swing with Sunday’s 4-2 victory in Vancouver and have now won two straight overall and three of four on the road.
The Oilers are listed as -145 home favourites on the Tuesday NHL odds and a +165 bet on the NHL puckline. The Lightning trail as +120 underdogs and the total is set at 6.5, with -120 odds favouring the OVER.
Lightning vs. Oilers NHL Betting Odds
The Oilers look to rebound after getting outgunned by the Lightning while getting swept in a pair of meetings last season. Edmonton was lit up for 13 total goals in those two defeats, including a decisive 7-4 loss on home ice and have now dropped 11 of 15 overall to the Lightning. However, the Oilers have enjoyed some success when facing Tampa Bay on home ice, winning eight of 11 total meetings since 2009, with each of their three most recent home wins coming by multi-goal margins.
The Oilers have also consistently filled the net during their current 6-2-0 run, averaging four goals per game over that stretch but have struggled in low-scoring contests, claiming victory in just two of 14 outings this season when scoring fewer than four goals.
Consistency continues to elude the Lightning, who have tallied consecutive wins just once in eight games. However, the Bolts have picked up at least a point in four straight road games and in 12 of their past 15 overall outings.
The Lightning have also tightened up on defence, allowing just two goals in each of their three recent road wins after getting rocked for 15 total goals during a preceding three-game slide.

The Lightning’s recent surge has coincided with an uptick in Brayden Point’s production. The veteran centre potted a pair of goals and added two helpers on Sunday in his second straight four-point performance. In addition to racking up 12 points in his past four outings, Point has also picked up 16 points while getting on the scoresheet in all 11 of his road appearances this season, adding value to his -155 odds on the NHL player props of recording at least one point on Tuesday. Nikita Kucherov has also heated up with eight points in four games and has turned in three three-point performances over his past six outings.
Edmonton Oilers
After failing to crack the scoresheet in the final two games of the club’s recent road trip, Leon Draisaitl rediscovered his touch in the first two games of the current homestand, scoring twice and contributing two assists and has now picked up multiple points in nine of his past 13 games. Draisaitl has scored in five of the Lightning’s past six visits to Edmonton. Evan Bouchard has also made steady contributions from the back end. The Oilers rearguard has piled up 10 points in his past eight outings and has picked up 11 points in 14 home appearances to date.
