Vancouver Canucks vs. Seattle Kraken Prediction, NHL Odds

The Kraken are coming off their most dominant win of the season and will be seeking revenge tonight,  after being swept last season by the Canucks.

The Moneyline is essentially a pick ’em tonight on the NHL odds with the total set at 6.5.

Canucks vs. Kraken NHL Betting Odds

The Canucks swept Seattle in their four-game series last season, outscoring the Kraken 19-8 and covering the spread in every matchup. None of their games played the Under, going 3-0-1 on the total. Connor Garland (2G 4A), JT Miller (1G 5A) and Quinn Hughes (1G 5A) all had six points in those games leading the way for Vancouver.

Vancouver has covered the spread in two of their past three games, boosting them to 2-5 ATS on the season. They have played back-to-back contests to the Under and they currently sit 4-3 on the Over/Under.

Seattle is hitting the Over in every second game they play, putting their record at 4-3-1 on the Over/Under. They have been excellent at covering the spread, doing it in three of their past four and five of eight games this season.

Vancouver Canucks

On Monday night, the Vancouver Canucks took their seventh straight loss to open the season, they hosted the Carolina Hurricanes who had just lost back-to-back games of their own. They got behind 1-0 only six minutes into the game and were never able to catch the Canes, falling 3-2.

If the loss was not disappointing enough, Vancouver would lose forwards Brock Boeser and Curtis Lazar to injury, joining a growing list of wounded with defenceman Quinn Hughes, Tucker Poolman and Travis Dermott.

If the Canucks want to start their turnaround tonight, they will need a stellar performance from Thatcher Demko who has not been quite himself out of the gate, putting up a 0.872 save percentage and a 4.06 goals-against average.

The team as a whole is in the bottom five of the league in scoring (26th 2.6 G/GP) and goals against (29th 4 GA/GP). Vancouver is starting to get desperate, looking for answers to a mountain of issues.

Seattle Kraken

The Seattle Kraken are on a bit of a roll, winning two of their last three games, to get their record back to even at 3-3-2.

Their big 5-1 win over Buffalo on Tuesday was their most impressive outing so far as Seattle is proving not to be the pushover hockey fans expected.

With their top two goaltenders, Philip Grubauer and Chris Driedger out with injury, the Kraken were forced to turn starting duties to Martin Jones. Jones had his best outing so far this season on Tuesday, turning away 15 of 16 shots for the win. Depth has been stepping up in a big way, as Daniel Sprong would lead the way offensively with three points (1G, 2A).

Seattle will host Pittsburgh Saturday to wrap up their short homestand before setting on another road trip.
