Super Bowl 60 National Anthem Length Odds, Prediction: Recent trends point toward the Under
The teams are set for Super Bowl 60 and the anthem singer has been tapped as well. Charlie Puth will sing the Star-Spangled Banner ahead of Patriots vs. Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Feb. 8.
While you may envision singers milking every last note on one of the biggest stages in the world, recent trends have actually seen the national anthem length go below the posted number.
Let’s dive into it.

National anthem betting odds
The line for the national anthem length has been set at 119.5 seconds, or just under two minutes.
Last year Jon Batiste sang the national anthem in 1:19 (71.4 seconds), finishing well below the posted total of 120.5 seconds (two minutes). That actually means the Over/Under has split evenly over the last decade, although the Under has been the play in two of the last three years.
Looking back a little further, just two of the last eight anthems have eclipsed two minutes and one of those was a duet, which naturally takes longer.
Super Bowl anthem history
In addition to the Under cashing more over the last few years, the posted anthem total has also decreased, with the average anthem length over the last 10 years sitting at 1:44 (86.4 seconds).
Since Over/Unders were first tracked for the Super Bowl in 2007, the key number of two minutes has been fairly split, with nine anthems going Over that number and 10 going Under.
Alica Keys easily has the longest anthem length since 2007, finishing with a time of 2:36 in 2013. That’s 14 seconds longer than the next closest time, which was Lady Gaga in 2016.
Jon Batiste’s time of 1:19 last year was the fastest anthem since Billy Joel’s 1:30 rendition in 2007.

Super Bowl 60 national anthem prediction
This is a tricky one with Charlie Puth, given he’s never sung the national anthem at a major sporting event.
However, with how quick solo anthem singers have been over the last number of years, I still feel comfortable taking the Under even if there’s no background on Puth’s anthem history.
