Ravens vs. Giants Point Spread: NFL Week 15 Odds, Prediction
Baltimore will be rested and fresh after last week’s bye, but defensive woes and kicker Justin Tucker’s struggles have raised serious questions about far the Ravens will go this season. The Giants finally broke with quarterback Daniel Jones, but they’ve dropped eight straight games, including arguably their most pathetic loss of the season in a 14-11 decision against New Orleans last week.
Baltimore opened as 14.5-point favourites to win on the NFL odds, with the total set at 43.5.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
This line has already been bet up to 16.0 as of Wednesday afternoon and that could continue to climb as we get closer to kick-off. Bettors are like banking on the Ravens’ bye keeping them fresh and while they are obviously a much better team, it’s worth noting they haven’t covered as double-digit favourites since 2022.
This is a massive number and while I don’t want to give much credit to New York, they’re a better team than the lines suggests. Keep in mind, Baltimore hasn’t won a a game by more than five points in over a month and the Giants have lost by 15 or more points just three times this season.
The Ravens are an even 6-6-1 against the spread in 2024, while New York is 3-9-1 ATS. Those trends could flip this week, however, as Baltimore has failed to cover in four of their last six games and the Giants are actually 6-1 ATS in their last seven games played in December.
Covering and winning outright is a completely different story. The Ravens have crushed NFC teams, going 12-1 straight up in their last 13 games against the division. On the other hand, New York is riding an eight-game losing streak overall and a seven-game home losing streak.
Baltimore Ravens
In a battle of the two best running backs in the league two weeks ago, Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles came out on top with a 24-19 win over Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens. Barkley put up 107 rushing yards and a score compared to a combined 161 rushing yards and no rushing scores for Henry and Lamar Jackson. While Henry has fallen behind Barkley in the odds to win Offensive Player of the Year, Jackson now has the fourth-shortest odds to win MVP, trailing Jared Goff, Barkley and the favourite, Josh Allen.
Kicker Justin Tucker’s nightmare season continued last week as he missed two field goals and an extra point. Tucker, considered an all-time great at his position, has made 19-of-27 fields goals this season (70.4 per cent), the lowest percentage of his career by far. While kickers don’t get a lot of credit in the NFL, consider that the Ravens lost by five points against Philadelphia and Tucker’s misses cost Baltimore seven points in the game. That shouldn’t make the difference this week against the Giants, but it could easily burn the Ravens in a close playoff game.
New York Giants
A blocked field goal cost New York a chance to tie and possibly win last week in what has become a complete debacle of a season. The Giants finally moved on from quarterback Daniel Jones, but Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito haven’t been the answer. DeVito managed 189 passing yards against Tampa Bay two weeks ago before a forearm injury sidelined him for the last two weeks.
It hasn’t been any better for Lock, who has averaged just over 200 passing yards with no TDs and two interceptions over the last two weeks. Lock is also dealing with a heel injury, so DeVito has been taking first-team reps at practice and could be in line to start on Sunday.
