Packers vs. Broncos Point Spread: NFL Pre-Season Week 2 Odds, Prediction
The Packers finished 9-7-1 and reached the postseason for the third straight year and the sixth time in coach Matt LaFleur’s seven years at the helm. However, Green Bay dropped five straight games to close the season after a 9-3-1 start, including a massive collapse in an overtime Wild Card loss to rival Chicago. The Packers held a 21-3 halftime lead in that contest.
The Broncos went 14-3 and won the AFC West for the first time in a decade, as coach Sean Payton took the team to the playoffs for the second straight year. An injury to quarterback Bo Nix derailed Denver’s Super Bowl hopes when New England came into Mile High and won a 10-7 snoozer in a snowstorm.
Nix is expected to make his preseason debut against the Packers.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Broncos are -6.5 home favourites with a -230 moneyline, while the Packers sit at +190. The total is listed at 41.5 points.
LaFleur is 9-11 straight up and 8-10-2 against the spread in the preseason, while Payton is 35-30 straight up and against the spread. The Broncos are 6-0 ATS in their last six home preseason contests.
Neither side surpassed 41.5 points last week, as Green Bay dropped a 28-9 decision at Pittsburgh and the Broncos won in Atlanta, 27-7.
Green Bay Packers
Jordan Love, who threw for 3,381 yards and 23 touchdowns against six interceptions last season, went 3-for-5 for 18 yards in his one series last week against the Steelers. The offence could only produce three field goals from rookie kicker Trey Smack, and the team was outgained by Pittsburgh, 385-160.
Defensively, the Packers were unable to pressure Mason Rudolph, Drew Allar or Will Howard, who combined to go 27-for-33 for 313 yards and two touchdowns. Green Bay’s passers, conversely, went a combined 19-for-30 for 97 yards.
Denver Broncos
Wins and losses obviously don’t matter at this juncture, but Payton and the Broncos sure do like posting W’s this time of year.
Denver has now won eight straight preseason games, dating back to Payton’s first season at the helm in 2023. The team averaged 28.3 points and 442 yards per game while allowing just 11.7 points and 191.3 yards per game during the 2025 preseason, and those trends have carried over to this August.
Jarrett Stidham went 9-for-15 with 131 yards and a touchdown, as the Broncos outgained Atlanta, 359-192. Jadhae Barron had a 97-yard interception return for a touchdown, and Courtland Sutton, who led the team last year with 74 catches, 1,017 yards and seven receiving touchdowns, had three catches for 60 yards.
Nix posted a second straight standout campaign under centre, completing 63.4% of his passes for 3,931 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also rushed for 356 yards and five touchdowns.
He broke his ankle in Denver’s 33-30 overtime win over Buffalo in the Divisional Round, and his absence was notable in the Broncos’ loss to the Patriots a week later.
NFL Preseason Prediction: Who Will Win Packers vs. Broncos?
Neither will admit it, but Payton likes winning these games, and LaFleur does not care.
Empower Field at Mile High Stadium will be rocking with the Broncos at home for the first time, and Nix will excite most everyone in attendance with his 2026 debut.
Take the Broncos giving 6.5 points, and the under, as Denver wins, 28-10.
