Colts vs. Texans Point Spread: Week 9 Odds, Prediction

The Houston Texans will roll out the welcome mat for the Indianapolis Colts this weekend in a game that many expect to get out of hand in a hurry.

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Texans opened as 13-point home favourites on the Sports Interaction odds board. The total opened at 49 but was moved up to 50.5.

Houston is 3-4 straight up but 5-2 against the spread on the season and the over is 5-2 in the club’s seven games this year. Indy is having a horrible campaign without starting quarterback Andrew Luck. The club dropped to 2-6 SU after falling to Cincinnati 24-23 last weekend. The Colts are 4-4 ATS and the over is 6-2 in its eight games.

The Texans are 3-0 SU and 2-0-1 ATS in their last three games against the Colts. Houston is also riding a five-game over streak heading into this weekend. Nearly 80 percent of Sports Interaction customers expect the Texans to cover as 13-point faves and 91 percent are on the over.

Indianapolis Colts

Don’t expect Andrew Luck to return at any point this season for the crumpling Colts. Luck is reportedly seeing specialists to consult on the lingering pain he’s feeling in his right shoulder.

Indy worked out a number of free agent quarterbacks this week while the team seeks for depth behind Jacoby Brissett. One way the Colts could help out Brissett is if his teammates start catching more balls. The Colts have dropped 18 catchable balls thrown by Brissett this season which is tied for the second most in the league.

Houston Texans

The quarterback position for years seemed to be the one missing piece of the puzzle for the Houston Texans but that doesn’t seem like it’ll be a problem now or for years to come. Rookie Deshaun Watson broke the record for most TD passes by a quarterback through the first seven starts of a career with 18.

The Texans have gone from a plodding offense to one that is explosive. Watson is tied for the most TD passes of 20 yards or more with six and the Texans went from averaging 1.6 touchdowns per game in 2016 to 3.7 (tops in the NFL) in 2017.
