This is a game that matters for the Colts, who need a win in order to stay in the race for the playoffs. Indianapolis is coming into the game with their season at 5-6 and will be gunning for the win in New York to get closer to the AFC South title. Last year this matchup resulted in a convincing 20-7 Jets win during Week 2. The New York Jets have already been mathematically eliminated in the AFC East. The Colts are slight -1.5 favorites on Sports Interaction’s NFL betting odds.
Indianapolis Colts vs. New York Jets

New York Jets
The Jets played one of their best games of the season last week, and they played it against the current odds favorite team to win the Super Bowl – the New England Patriots. They played well, but they still lost 22-17. During that close game, Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick looked about the best he’s looked all season and threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns.
Overall in this season, Fitzpatrick has thrown for 2252 yards, 10 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Matt Forte leads the team on 202 attempts for 759 yards and seven scores. Brandon Marshall is their leading receiver with 49 receptions for 668 yards and three touchdowns.
If the Jets can play close to perfect football this Monday and Fitzpatrick has a solid game, they might be able to pull off a win here, which would put them back to the .500 mark. It won’t get them to the playoffs, but a solid win on home territory would be appreciated by the Jets fans, who’ve had to witness the Jets go 1-4 at home this year.
A Luck-less Colts team is in fact, pretty out of luck. Last week, their starting QB was out with an injury and was replaced by back up Scott Tolzien, who led his team on their way to a big blow out loss against the Steelers. It seems that Luck will be back this week after practicing with the team over the past week. Wideout TY Hilton who has been a major factor in Colts wins this season gave the team and fans a scare last week when he left the game with an injury, but again, all signs point to him returning to the lineup for the MNF game.
A look that the Colts numbers so far this season shows Luck with 2827 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions. On the ground, Frank Gore leads his team with 178 rushes for 670 yards and four touchdowns. T.Y. Hilton has been fantastic for them as well with 60 receptions for 942 yards and five touchdowns.
One of the big issues for the Colts this season has been their run defense, which ranks 23rd in the league. This means that if Fitzpatrick has a good day, the Colts might be in trouble here. Either way, it should be a fairly close game. The Colts havent’ been great on the road this season with only two wins out of five away games.
Colts vs. Jets Prediction
Based on how the Jets kept up with the Patriots last week, even though they ultimately lost, I’m going to go with a close win for the underdogs here. Jets +1.5
