The good news for the Chargers and the Giants is at least one team won’t lose this game. LA visits the northeast to take on the G-Men in a battle of two of the last winless teams in the league.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. New York Giants

Point Spread: Giants -3.5 Date: Oct. 8, 1:00 PM ET MetLife Stadium – East Rutherford, New Jersey

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Giants opened as 3.5-point (-110) favourites on the Sports Interaction NFL odds board with a 44.5-point total for the game.

At the quarter mark of the season, it appears both these teams are more likely to be in contention for the top overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft than making a bid for the playoffs.

Only the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets and Chicago Bears have longer odds to win the Super Bowl than the Chargers at 200/1 on the Sports Interaction NFL futures board. The Giants aren’t much better at 100/1.

New York’s offense has looked meek all season. The under is 5-0 in the Giants’ last five home games. The Bolts meanwhile are terrible in the fourth quarter and are 1-9-1 against the spread in their last 11 games.

Over 60 percent of Sports Interaction’s customers expect the Chargers to cover as the road dogs. More than 90 percent of total bettors like the over.

Los Angeles Chargers

Another week, another narrow loss for the Bolts. The setback brings Los Angeles’ record to 0-7 straight up and 0-6-1 against the spread in the club’s last seven games decided by seven or fewer points.

There’s online chatter among the club’s supporters wondering why the offense hasn’t been more explosive and some people are even calling for the club to fire offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt.

New York Giants

New York head coach Ben McAdoo says his team needs to block, tackle, catch and kick better. Fix all those things and the Giants should be fine. Sounds easy enough, right?

Even the club’s best player isn’t performing. Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is the league-leader in drop passes with five despite sitting out the first game of the season.
