Bills vs. Browns Point Spread: NFL Week 16 Odds, Prediction
The Browns are coming off a blowout loss to the Bears on the road, and after a few solid weeks, there weren’t many positives for Cleveland to take away from the loss. On the other side, the Bills are coming off a narrow victory over the Patriots, and they’re trending up over the last three weeks.
With the Browns hoping to bounce back and Buffalo looking to climb into a tie for first place in the AFC East, let’s get into our Bills vs Browns predictions for this Week 16 on Sunday.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Given that they appear to be the inferior side on paper, the Browns are significant 10-point underdogs against Buffalo. Much of that is due to the Browns’ current situation at quarterback, along with the weather forecast projecting some serious wind and temperatures that could be in the teens at kickoff. With both offences unlikely to be operating at their best given the ominous weather forecast, it’s not a surprise at all that this total sits at 42 in this one on the NFL odds board.
The Browns are just 5-9 against the spread this season, while the Bills are 7-7 ATS on the year. Games involving the Bills are fairly balanced, with the Over cashing in seven of their 14 games played to this point. Cleveland has also generally been up-and-down on both sides, with seven of its 14 games going above the number thus far.
Buffalo Bills
Time and again, Josh Allen and the Bills have found their stride in December and ended the season on a high note. We saw Buffalo win its last five games to end the 2023 campaign, and we could be trending toward a similar result this time around, as Allen and the Bills have now won three straight and should be favoured in each of their remaining games.
Regardless of Buffalo covering the spread on Sunday, we can expect them to run the ball effectively and play a clean and more efficient game in a spot where they just need to get out of dodge with a victory. With the Buffalo offence getting healthier in recent weeks, it’s hard to see them scoring fewer than 20 points, which should be enough to secure a win.
Cleveland Browns
While Shedeur Sanders steadily showed signs of improvement in prior weeks, the rookie seemed to regress with a zero touchdown, three-interception performance in Week 15. With the weather making it hard for the Browns to throw the ball downfield in any real capacity, this week projects to be another tough game for Sanders.
Based on what we know about the Browns’ coaching staff and the difficult weather conditions in this game, Cleveland should look to keep the ball on the ground and grind this one out in a game that should be played in the mid-to-high 30s.
NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Bills vs. Browns?
There is some uncertainty surrounding how both teams will handle the weather, but I have more faith in Buffalo’s offence to produce in conditions that should lend itself to what they do best, especially after seeing how it’s handled the cold and wind in recent weeks.
With that in mind, let’s look for the Bills to grind out a victory in a lower-scoring affair by a score in the region of 24-13.
