It was made public Wednesday that the 49ers brass and Nick Bosa – the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year – have agreed to a five-year extension worth $170 million. Thus the Pro Bowler’s holdout comes to an end and both parties can resume regular business activities.

The San Francisco 49ers start the season away against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The NFL odds have them as only slight -2.5 favourites.

49ers’ Nick Bosa is NFL’s Highest Paid Non-QB

Almost irrespective of professional sports leagues, this has been the summer of breaking records regarding new contracts. As a defensive end, Nick Bosa’s $170 million five-year contract makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league. The previous annual salary plateau was held by Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald at $31.7 million. Bosa will earn $34 million.

With respect to guaranteed money, his $122.5 million surpasses, guess who, his brother Joey Bosa’s 2020 agreement that pocketed him $120 million guaranteed with the Chargers.

Nick Bosa has a phenomenal 2022. He posted a total of 51 tackles, two forced fumbles, and a mesmerizing 18.5 sacks. In 2021 he registered 15.5 sacks. His contributions mean the world for San Francisco’s defence and now they can officially depend on his services again. Quarterbacks beware.
