AFC North is back up for grabs

After Baltimore started the season 1-5 and Pittsburgh started 4-2, it looked like the AFC North was all but locked up for the Steelers. Fast forward a few weeks and the Ravens have bounced back with three straight wins, while Pittsburgh has dropped two of three.

Baltimore (4-5) now trails the Steelers (5-4) by just one game in the division and these teams still have two head-to-heads that will be crucial.

The Ravens also have a fairly easy upcoming schedule, with winnable games against the Browns, Jets and Bengals in the next three weeks.

The point is, don’t count out Baltimore and a healthy Lamar Jackson to win the division.

Jonathan Taylor is a legitimate MVP contender

With all the hype surrounding Indianapolis quarterback Daniel Jones’ success this season, it was easy to overlook running back Jonathan Taylor. That’s not the case anymore as Taylor rushed for a ridiculous 244 yards and three TDs against the Falcons in Germany, 11 yards short of Jones’ passing total.

Taylor is lapping the field when it comes to running backs, posting 219 rushing yards and five TDs more than the next closest players. Week 10 was the fourth time this season Taylor has rushed for three TDs in a single game.

Taylor has completely passed Jones when it comes to the most important offensive player on the Colts and he’s a major reason they sit at 8-2 with a three-game cushion in the AFC South.

That’s MVP calibre material.

New England Patriots are for real

Riding a seven-game win streak, the 8-2 Patriots are one of the hottest teams in football. But, what’s most impressive is who the wins have come against. New England is coming off a key win in Tampa Bay and it was just over a month ago they marched into Buffalo for a massive divisional victory.

Drake Maye completed less than half of his passes against the Bucs and Rhamondre Stevenson didn’t even play, but New England found a way to win.

Rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson rushed for 147 yards and two TDs against Tampa Bay, while the Patriots’ defence held the Buccaneers to 5.6 yards per play. Regardless of who steps up, New England is finding ways to win.

It’s not the Tom Brady Pats, but this team is for real.

Jury’s still out on Buffalo

Let’s shift from a pleasant surprise in the AFC East to a bit of a disappointment. Buffalo was blown out 30-13 in Miami last week against a terrible Dolphins team, dropping the Bills to 6-3, two games back of New England.

The Bills missed out on a receiver at the trade deadline, which could come back to haunt them with tight end Dalton Kincaid dealing with a hamstring injury. Josh Allen struggled to generate much with the receiving targets he did have last week, so the team is really hoping the Kincaid injury isn’t serious.

With key divisional losses already on Buffalo’s record, it’s clear there isn’t any much room for error in the second half of the season.

Best of the NFC West is becoming clearer

The Seahawks, Rams and 49ers all entered Week 10 with six wins, but we’re finally starting to see some separation with Seattle and L.A. winning, while San Francisco lost.

That makes next week’s battle between the Hawks and Rams in L.A. massive as it will give one team a clear-cut lead in the division for the first time this season.

The Rams’ offence is buzzing behind the backs of Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams, while Sam Darnold is doing in Seattle what he did last year in Minnesota.

Next week’s matchup could decide the NFC West.
