The Lakers hit the road after falling 134-120 to Golden State on Tuesday night, but arrive in Memphis on a steady 5-1 run over their past six road contests. Already eliminated from the playoff contention, the Grizzlies look to rebound from Wednesday’s 110-98 loss in Cleveland that extended their current losing streak to three games.

With a chance to improve on their 10th-place positioning in the NBA Western Conference standings, the Lakers are pegged as heavy 15.5-point road favourites on the Friday NBA odds. The beleaguered Grizzlies trail as distant +725 underdogs on the NBA moneyline while the total is listed at 225.5.

Lakers vs. Grizzlies NBA Betting Odds

The Lakers enter the penultimate game on their regular season schedule in a three-way tie for eighth place in the West with Golden State and Sacramento, but come up short on tiebreakers, forcing them to find a way to win this weekend if they are to have any chance of hosting a game in the upcoming NBA Play-In Tournament. This team will have to overcome a pair of bad losses on home court in which they surrendered over 130 points per game while losing by an average margin of 12 points. However, the Lakers have enjoyed some success against the Grizzlies, winning two of three previous meetings this season including a 136-124 win in Memphis on March 27.

With their lineup decimated by injuries, the Grizzlies have put up little resistance during their current three-game slide, scoring just 93.7 points per game while losing by double digits in each of their recent defeats. Home cooking has provided this team with no lift. With just four wins in their past 19 appearances at FedExForum, the Grizzlies now sport a Western Conference worst 9-30 home record and are tied for 26th overall with an against the spread record at home of 15-24-1. However, they have covered in three of their past four when pegged as home underdogs by double digits.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers hope to have Anthony Davis back in the lineup for Friday night’s date with the Grizzlies. Davis missed Tuesday’s loss to the Warriors while suffering from headaches and nausea. However, he has not entered concussion protocol, with his symptoms believed to be caused by a flu-like that is making its way around the dressing room. LeBron James stepped up with a game-high 33 points and 11 assists in Tuesday’s defeat after missing last weekend’s 127-117 loss to Minnesota with flu-like symptoms, but LBJ continues to be hobbled by an ankle injury that will once again make him a game-time decision. With the superstar dup hurting, Rui Hachimura has responded well to a larger assignment, averaging 25 points over the past two games and contributing 11 rebounds on Tuesday while recording his fourth double-double in nine outings.

Memphis Grizzlies

Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, it is easier to list the healthy players on the Memphis roster than those currently on the shelf. Among the latest players to enter the clinic are Luke Kennard and Santi Aldama. The two starters will both miss a fifth straight game with knee and foot injuries, respectively, adding to a growing injury list that already features Vince Williams Jr., John Konchar, Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, and Jaren Jackson Jr. However, those injury woes have provided ample opportunity for kids in the Grizzlies lineup to strut their stuff. Selected 19th overall in 2022, big man Jake Laravia set both a game high and a personal best with 32 points including eight threes. Scotty Pippen Jr. has also thrived with more responsibility, averaging 18 points, four boards, and 5.8 assists over his past four games.
