The Atlanta Hawks have been a middling team to star the new season, winning four out of their seven games. They were able to get across the .500 mark with a big 118-111 win over the red-hot Washington Wizards.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets seem to be in the exact same boat, sitting at a 4-3 overall record with a two-game winning streak, knocking off both the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons. Which team will be able to grab another win, and which one will fall back down to .500?

Hawks vs. Nets NBA Betting Odds

The Hawks are just 2-5 ATS in their last seven games when coming into the matchup on one day of rest and the same record ATS when going up against a team with a winning straight up record. Atlanta has also been terrible against the spread on the road, just 0-6 in their past six games.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games when playing against teams at home against a team with a losing road record overall. They are also 6-2 ATS in their past eight matchups when getting two days of rest before the game. Similar to the Hawks, the under has cashed out in their last eight games when they are coming off of an ATS win in the game prior.

Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks were fantastic offensively and on the glass in their last game against the Wizards. Six players wound up hitting double digits in scoring and the team won the rebounding category 47-36. They are going to need a similar performance if they want to beat a terrific Brooklyn squad on the road. Trae Young will definitely be the player to keep an eye on throughout the contest as he is the emotional leader of this unit and is going to be the focal point of the Nets defense. His scoring is slightly down to start the year as he’s averaging just 22.9 points per game while shooting just 27% from three. He’ll need to be better if they’re to pull this out.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets showed what kind of depth they had after Kevin Durant was ejected in the third quarter of their last game after playing 27 minutes. He still scored 23 but it was James Harden who picked up the slack when he left by posting a triple double. He finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. This team was able to knock down a whopping 65.3 percent of their shots and they also dominated the rebounding category 41-22.

We all know what Durant is going to bring to this team, but Harden seems to be a big wild card. With the new foul changes, he has seen his scoring fluctuate to start the year. However, a big night from him will surely put them up over the edge to grab another win.
