When all is said and done, the Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier UFC 264 main event should go down as one of the most anticipated fights of 2021, rivalled only by their earlier clash in January.

UFC 264 Odds

The line for McGregor vs. Poirier III has fluctuated quite a bit in the week leading up to the fight, so bettors would be wise to monitor the MMA odds for the best value. Six months makes a big difference.  McGregor originally opened as a -185 favourite to win the January fight at UFC 257 and he was as high as -305 by the start of the fight.  After the Poirier KO win, it’s a big difference for UFC 246, with McGregor actually a slim -105 underdog three days before the fight.  As of Friday night, McGregor and Poirier are both listed at -115.

The favoured method of victory is for McGregor to win the fight by KO, TKO, or DQ at +115.  That makes sense, given 19 of McGregor 22 career wins have come by KO/TKO.  Poirier’s most likely path to victory is also by KO, TKO, or DQ at +130.  That’s likely paying more because only 13 of his 27 career wins are by KO/TKO.  A draw is +3800.

It’s easy to see oddsmakers and bettors alike expect a quick fight.  A McGregor win in the first round is +330, while a first round Poirier win is +555.  McGregor winning by decision, which he’s only done twice in his career, is +710.  Poirier, who’s won seven times by decision, is +650 to do it for an eighth time on Saturday.
