MLB Odds: Betting lines shift, Blue Jays vs. Mariners ALCS now listed as a pick’em
The Toronto Blue Jays didn’t hear no bell.
After dropping the first two games of the ALCS at home, the Blue Jays won Games 3 and 4 in Seattle to level the ALCS 2-2.
The betting lines have adjusted accordingly and the ALCS is now listed as a pick’em ahead of Friday’s Game 5 in Seattle.
Here’s what you need to know.

ALCS
Toronto opened the ALCS as small favourites, but the series line has fluctuated significantly since Game 1. Here’s how the odds have shifted through four games:
| Odds to win ALCS | Toronto | Seattle |
|---|---|---|
| Entering Game 1 | -125 | +105 |
| Entering Game 2 | +186 | -225 |
| Entering Game 3 | +475 | -650 |
| Entering Game 4 | +200 | -250 |
| Entering Game 5 | -110 | -110 |
After losing Games 1 and 2 by a combined score of 13-4, the Blue Jays headed to Seattle as heavy +475 underdogs, while the Mariners were listed at -650.
That means if you had bet Toronto on the series line before they won 13-4 in Game 3 and 8-2 in Game 4, you could have turned a $20 wager into $115.
Game 5 will go Friday night in Seattle with Kevin Gausman on the mound for the Blue Jays. Games 6 and 7 return to Toronto, so the Blue Jays are guaranteed at least one more game at the Rogers Centre.
ALCS MVP
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Jorge Polanco are +275 co-favourites to win ALCS MVP. Both players have been key contributors to their teams’ offence through four games.
Guerrero started off slow in the ALCS, going 0-for-7 in the first two games. However, Guerrero has exploded for six hits, including four extra-base hits, across Games 3 and 4.
Polanco had a similar run early in the series, recording four hits and five RBIs through Games 1 and 2.
Toronto’s Andreas Gimenez rounds out the top three ALCS MVP favourites at +650 after hitting huge home runs in Game 3 and Game 4.
