Charles Schwab Challenge Golf Predictions and Betting Odds
The PGA Tour returns to the Dallas/Fort Worth area this week for the newly-named Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial.
Charles Schwab Challenge Results
Tough spot on the new PGA Tour schedule for the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, as it follows the PGA Championship and is ahead of the popular Memorial Tournament hosted by Jack Nicklaus. Thus, the field is a bit watered-down. New world No. 1 Brooks Koepka, who repeated at the PGA Championship on Sunday, isn’t playing. Neither is Tiger Woods.
This tournament has had several names over the years – it didn’t have a sponsor in 2018 and was called the Fort Worth Invitational. Colonial Country Club, a par 70 at around 7,200 yards, has hosted a PGA Tour event every year since 1946. Only Augusta National (the Masters) has hosted an event for a longer uninterrupted run. Casual golf fans may best remember this tournament from 2003 when former LPGA star Annika Sorenstam played in her lone PGA Tour event. She missed the cut.
Charles Schwab Challenge Betting Odds
Justin Rose is the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 3 and is the +1100 favourite. He won the event a year ago at 20 under, three shots ahead of second-place Koepka. Rose shot a final-round 64. He had a chance to tie or break the tournament-record score of 21-under 259 but bogeyed the 72nd hole. Only Ben Hogan has repeated here.
Jon Rahm and Dallas native Jordan Spieth are each +1200. Spieth is not having a good season but perhaps found something last week at Bethpage Black as he finished tied for third. He was the 2017 champion of this tournament. Rahm was among a few big names to miss the cut at the PGA Championship. He has finished fifth and second in two trips to Colonial.
Rickie Fowler (+1400), Xander Schauffele (+1600) and Francesco Molinari (+1800) round out the favourites. None have won this tournament.

PGA Canadian Golfer Odds
Corey Conners has the shortest odds among Canadians at +9000. He comes off a tie for 64th last week and finished eighth last year at Colonial in his first time playing this event. Nick Taylor is +15000, Mackenzie Hughes +17500, Ben Silverman +22500 and Roger Sloan +45000.
No Canadian has won this event. George Knudson was a runner-up in 1965.
Charles Schwab Challenge Betting Predictions
Our winner is Colonial member Ryan Palmer at +6600. He has yet to win the tournament but has three Top 5s since 2012.
