Bachelor Jake Pavelka and Vienna Giradi Split

Like Wuthering Heights, it was a love fraught with controversy set against the torrid backdrop of the Yorkshire Moors a reality TV dating show. Yes, the short-lived relationship between former bachelor Jake Pavelka and his betrothed, Vienna Giradi, has come to a tragic end, with Jake ultimately accusing Vienna of “stepping out.”

Sources involved in the production of The Bachelor say it was Jake who ended the relationship with Vienna because he had reason to believe she was cheating on him with Gregory Michael, who appears on the ABC Family show Greek.

TMZ reports that it is unknown weather Vienna and Gregory Michael were involved in an intimate relationship, but that the two were definitely seen flirting at a recent event.

Vienna was the least liked castmember on the last season of The Bachelor, with all the other contestants giving Jake that standard Bachelor fare warning: Vienna wasn’t there for the right reasons. Even Jake’s family, who met both Vienna and fellow finalist Tenley Molzahn, far preferred Tenley over Vienna.

However, others say that Jake is not all that he’s cracked up to be and that he went on the show for fame and fortune, leaving a jilted girlfriend to wonder why her boyfriend was on a TV show looking for love.

Tanya Douglas told Life and Style she was dating Pavelka when he decided to do the show and that he was far more interested in the $500K the show paid rather than finding a wife. She said that Pavelka had even come up with the harebrained scheme to try to get her on The Bachelor as one of the 25 contestants.

Douglas told Life and Style Pavelka said, “Then it’s rigged for me the whole time, and in the end we can still be together and have the money … I’m not going on the show to find love. I’ve found the love of my life with you.”

There have been rumors that Pavelka is one giant fame whore, appearing as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars and also scoring a gig on the upcoming episode of Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva. Word on the street is the former pilot caught the acting bug. Sources close to Vienna say her relationship with Jake was strained over his constant quest for fame, claiming he constantly ditched his fiancé in favor of photo shoots and media events.  

The final conversation between the doomed duo took place last night at around 6 p.m. pacific time – and, like Heathcliff and Catherine – the break-up occurred via cell phone.
