Stampeders vs. Argonauts Prediction: CFL Week 10 Point Spread, Odds
Calgary trailed big heading into the fourth quarter last week, but they outscored the Argos 21-0 in the final frame to walk away with a 27-23 victory. Both teams now have identical 4-4 records and each sit third in their respective division.
Toronto opened as a slim 1-point favourite to win the rematch, while the total is set at 49.5 on the CFL odds.
CFL Odds and Betting
The teams split the season series last year, but historically it’s been all Calgary, with the Stamps winning eight of the last 10 head-to-heads. The total has gone Under in seven of those 10 games, although the Over hit in the last two.
Calgary has rewarded loyal bettors with a CFL-best 6-2 record against the spread this season. They’ve split the Over/Under evenly in 2024.
The Argonauts are 3-5 ATS this season, failing to cover as 3-point underdogs last week. They’ve hit the Over in five of eight games, tied for the second-most Overs behind Saskatchewan’s six.
Calgary Stampeders
A clutch fourth quarter made the difference for Calgary last week as they scored 21 unanswered points to earn the comeback victory. Jake Maier finished with 287 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Maier is fourth in the CFL in passing yards this season (1,982) and third in passing TDs (13). Marken Michel and Cameron Echols-Luper each had receiving TDs against Toronto, while Reggie Begelton finished with a game-high 97 receiving yards.
A major issue for the Stampeders this season has been generating yards. Calgary averages the second-lowest total yards per game (354.5). Ironically, the only team with a lower number is Toronto at 339.2 yards per game. Something that won’t help that total is the loss of starting running back Dedrick Mills, who ranks fourth in the CFL with 406 rushing yards. Mills stepped away from the team last week for personal reasons and it’s not known when, or if, he’ll return.
Toronto Argonauts
Toronto cruised to a 16-point lead at halftime last week, but they were thoroughly dismantled and outscored 21-1 in the second half. Cameron Dukes finished with 177 passing yards, 95 rushing yards and had a touchdown in the air and on the ground, but he also threw a costly interception that ended the game. Former Stampeders’ Ka’Deem Carey and Richie Sindani also scored touchdowns in the loss.
There’s still been no clarity on Chad Kelly, who is suspended for at least one more game. The only guarantee is last year’s Most Outstanding Player obviously won’t play this week. Missing Kelly has been a tough blow for the Argos as they average the least amount of passing yards per game (214.6) in the CFL. Toronto’s run-game has picked up the slack, leading the league with 124.6 rushing yards per game. Carey has been a big piece of the ground attack as he sits second in the CFL in rushing yards (522) and tied for third in rushing TDs (four).
