Roughriders vs. Stampeders Prediction: CFL Week 12 Point Spread, Odds
The Roughriders continued to roll with last week’s dominating 29-9 win over Hamilton and have now surrendered just 15 total points in their past two games and an average of 15 points during their current 4-0-0. The Stampeders were idle last week after snapping a two-game slide with a narrow 28-27 home win over Winnipeg in Week 10. However, the Stamps failed to cover as 3.5-point chalk in that contest and are now winless against the spread in three straight contests.
The Roughriders’ recent dominance has not swayed the oddsmakers, who have made them 1-point road underdogs on the CFL Week 12 odds. However, these teams enter the weekend deadlocked at -110 on the CFL moneyline, and the total is pegged at 51.5.
CFL Odds and Betting
Saturday night’s matchup marks the second and final meeting of the season for these long-time CFL West rivals. The Stamps handed the Riders their first and only loss of the season so far last month, tallying a 24-10 road victory which improves them to 10-3-0 in their past 13 head-to-head dates.
Calgary has also been a reliable bet when facing the Roughriders, going 10-3 ATS over that stretch but have seen their three most recent losses to the Riders come over their past five meetings at home.
With Saskatchewan failing to reach 20 points in three of their past four versus the Stamps, the UNDER has gone 3-1. However, the Roughriders have averaged over 28 points in their past three trips to Cowtown. Saskatchewan has also been a force on the road over the past 11 months, winning and covering in six straight on the road while scoring 33.2 points per game.
Conversely, the Stamps have yet to win two straight at home this season, and have gone 3-6-1 SU and 3-7 ATS in their past 10 including four defeats as betting chalk.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
The Riders defence has been simply outstanding, particularly over the past three games. Saskatchewan has not given up a major score while surrendering just 15 total points in the past two games and has surrendered just one TD outside garbage time during their 4-0-0 run.
Overall, the Riders have given up an average of just six points before the half during their current surge, taking the pressure off Trevor Harris, who has flashes of CFL Most Outstanding Player form while tossing for 10 touchdowns over the past four games and 16 on the season.
The Saskatchewan ground game has also contributed, led by AJ Ouellette, who leads the squad with three scoring runs and earned offensive player of the game honours while compiling 117 total yards last week versus Hamilton. Look for the Riders to solve the Stamps this time around.
Calgary Stampeders
The Stampeders enter the weekend trailing the Riders by four points and find themselves deadlocked at 12 points with Winnipeg after the Blue Bombers knocked off Montreal on Thursday night. However, with just one total TD score after halftime over the past three games, the Stamps offence must rediscover their groove if they are to have any chance to stop the Rider juggernaut.
Vernon Adams Jr. looked to have gotten past his recent injury woes with a 300-yard, two-TD performance in the team’s narrow win over Winnipeg two weeks ago, and the bye week should have given him more time to heal.
Dedrick Mills also gave a moribund ground game a boost with 105 rushing yards versus the Bombers. However, the Stamps have failed to generate a scoring in the past two games.
