The Argos saw their current overall slide extend to two games with last weekend’s crushing 41-27 loss in Ottawa and have now surrendered an average of over 31 points per game during their current 0-4 run away from BMO Field. The Lions return home deadlocked with Winnipeg atop the CFL West standings after rolling to a 37-23 win in Montreal last weekend and have now outscored opponents by a massive 75-37 overall margin during their current two-game win streak.

With these teams seemingly headed in opposite directions, the Lions have emerged as 4.5-point home favourites on the CFL Week 15 odds. The Argonauts trail as +185 underdogs on the CFL moneyline and the total is listed at 52.5.

Friday night’s clash is the second and final regular season meeting between these squads. The Argos tallied an impressive 35-27 comeback victory when they hosted the Lions in Week 1 and have now taken four of five from BC. However, the Boatmen suffered brutal defeats in their past two visits to BC Place, getting outscored by an overall 99-11 margin including a 44-2 loss in their most recent visit in June 2022.

Not surprisingly, the OVER has gone 4-2 in their past six overall meetings but just 7-6 in 13 matchups in BC.

Toronto Argonauts

The inconsistent play that has marked the Argonauts’ campaign continued last weekend in Ottawa. The team’s recent struggles to generate offence early on were further complicated by a pair of pick-sixes tossed by Chad Kelly that put things out of reach before halftime. Kelly rebounded to toss a trio of garbage-time touchdowns after recess, but his four interceptions on the day bring his total to six in just three appearances since rejoining the team.

Overall, the Argos have mustered just six total points in first-quarter action over the past three games and have held a halftime lead since their 27-23 loss in Calgary back in Week 9. On a positive note, Kelly still managed to complete 36 of 56 pass attempts for 463 yards and receiver David Ungerer III has enjoyed a resurgence since Kelly’s return under centre. With his 131-yard performance, Ungerer has now averaged 93.3 receiving yards in his past three games, but has yet to find the end zone this season.

BC Lions

Chad Kelly was not the only pivot to struggle with accuracy last weekend. After returning to familiar form with three touchdowns and 325 passing yards in a 38-12 rout of the RedBlacks two weeks ago, Nathan Rourke tossed a trio of picks last week in Montreal. However, the Lions defence prevented any further damage, limiting the Alouettes to just 310 total yards of offence and forcing the defending Grey Cup champions to settle for field goals three times. While Rourke has topped 300 passing yards in each of the past two games, he has now piled up seven picks over his first four outings. However, the Victoria BC native turned in one of the most spectacular performances of his career when he last faced Toronto in 2022, completing 39 of 45 pass attempts for 436 yards and four scores.

The Lions offence have also benefited from William Stanback’s recent performance. The veteran running back galloped for 128 yards and one TD last week and has now averaged 105 rushing yards over the past four games.
