This is the first trip to Indianapolis for the expansion Tempo, who have dropped two straight, including a 102-77 whooping at the hands of the Dream at home on Sunday.

Isabelle Harrison had 17 points before getting ejected in the third quarter, and Julie Allemand had 13 points and 6 assists for Toronto, which was outrebounded, 44-24. Brittney Sykes and Marina Mabrey, who average a combined 38.6 points for the Tempo, scored a total of just 20 points on 7-for-23 shooting.

Indiana, meanwhile, is rolling along. They have won three straight, including an 85-75 victory at Connecticut on Sunday. Caitlin Clark made five three-pointers and scored 25 points, while Kelsey Mitchell added 19 points, Aliyah Boston contributed 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists, and Monique Billings added 10 points and 8 rebounds.

Since dropping their first two games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse this season, the Fever have won five straight at home.

Toronto Tempo vs. Indiana Fever WNBA Odds and Betting Trends

Indiana is a heavy -8.5 favourite tonight on the WNBA odds with a -315 money line. Meanwhile, Toronto is at +310.

The over/under for this contest is 178.5. Toronto has played to the Over in six of seven road games, while Indiana has played to the Under in four of its last five.

Toronto Tempo

It appears the Tempo will be without Nyara Sabally (12.4 ppg, team-leading 5.4 REB) for the third straight game, while Kiki Rice, a solid-looking rookie who is averaging 12.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, will miss her fifth straight game after suffering an ankle injury earlier this month.

Rice and Sabally are both starters, so their losses certainly strain Toronto’s depth. Harrison (11 ppg, 4.5 REB) and Julie Allemand (6.1 ppg, 3.8 AST) have done a solid job in their absences, but those moves hurt the Tempo’s bench.

Sykes had her worst scoring output and three weeks against Atlanta, and Mabrey scored in single digits for just the fourth time this season. The smart money says they will both bounce back this evening against a less stingy Indiana defence.

Indiana Fever

Clark has certainly awoken from her mini scoring slump. She is averaging 25.3 points in her last three games after averaging 12.3 points in her previous four.

Her back is still balky, though, so she is listed as questionable again this evening. Teammate Raven Johnson is most likely out tonight. The rookie reserve guard has an ankle injury.

Cunningham continues to be a spark off the bench in critical moments. She scored the last 11 points of the win over Connecticut on Saturday. She made three 3-pointers in the process.

WNBA Prediction: Who will win Tempo vs. Fever?

The shorthanded Tempo are going to struggle this evening. Their leading rebounder in the loss to the Dream was Mabrey, a 6-foot-1 guard, with four. Now, Toronto’s frontcourt gets to match up with Boston, who is averaging 8.4 boards on the season and has reached double digits on the glass in each of the last three games.

Look for Mabrey and Sykes to bounce back offensively, but the Tempo don’t have the depth to knock off a surging Fever squad at home. Take Indiana to win, 89-78.
