2026 CFL Betting Odds and Week 17 Power Rankings: Montreal is back on top
It was quiet in the CFL in Week 16, with only three games on the schedule.
However, that doesn’t mean we didn’t learn anything. Montreal is back on top of the power rankings, while Toronto also climbed. Those moves came at the expense of Edmonton, Saskatchewan and Winnipeg, who all dropped.

1. Montreal Alouettes (2)
Record: 11-3
Week 16 result: W 37-25 @ HAM
Week 17 opponent: Bye
Grey Cup odds: +170
After dropping two of three games, the Alouettes righted the ship last week with a win that dealt a serious blow to Hamilton’s playoff chances. Montreal is now back on top of the power rankings for the 16th time in 17 weeks as they head into a bye.
2. Edmonton Elks (1)
Record: 10-4
Week 16 result: L 24-19 @ TOR
Week 17 opponent: vs. HAM
Grey Cup odds: +425
Edmonton lost a four-game win streak in Toronto last week, which also bumped them out of top spot in the power rankings. Even with the loss, the Elks remain the only West team to clinch a playoff spot and they have a big opportunity to secure first in the division ahead of a home-and-home against the Tiger-Cats.
3. B.C. Lions (3)
Record: 7-6
Week 16 result: Bye
Week 17 opponent: vs. SSK
Grey Cup odds: +650
After a dreadful start to the season, the Leos have battled back to win six of their last seven games. Now only two points seperates B.C. from Saskatchewan for second in the West Division and a home playoff date. That makes this week’s matchup against the Riders a ‘must-win’ for both teams.
4. Toronto Argonauts (6)
Record: 8-6
Week 16 result: W 29-14 vs. EDM
Week 17 opponent: @ WPG
Grey Cup odds: +600
It’s not often you win a game when you lose the time of possession battle by almost 18 minutes, but Toronto pulled it off against Edmonton in Week 16. The defence made the difference, particularly the two interceptions they generated in the end zone. With a home playoff date already secured, the Argos now have their eyes set on chasing Montreal for first in the East Division.
5. Saskatchewan Roughriders (4)
Record: 8-5
Week 16 result: Bye
Week 17 opponent: @ BC
Grey Cup odds: +500
Saskatchewan is coming off a bye and some much-needed rest, with A.J. Ouellette and Kian Schaffer-Baker both eligible to return to the lineup. This week’s trip to B.C. is absolutely crucial for the Riders to keep a hold on second-place in the West Division.
6. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (5)
Record: 7-6
Week 16 result: Bye
Week 17 opponent: vs. TOR
Grey Cup odds: +1200
The Blue Bombers beat Saskatchewan 19-6 in the Banjo Bowl before last week’s bye. The time off is key for Zach Collaros, who left the game against Saskatchewan with an upper-body injury. Winnipeg will be happy to be back home this week as they’ve won three straight games at Princess Auto Stadium.
7. Calgary Stampeders (7)
Record: 6-8
Week 16 result: W 48-30 vs. OTT
Week 17 opponent: @ OTT
Grey Cup odds: +1200
Calgary barely survived last week against the winless RedBlacks, with a 62-yard game-winning field goal from Rene Paredes saving the day. The Stamps remain last in the West Division, but only two points separates them from both B.C. and Winnipeg. Securing a season sweep against Ottawa in Week 17 will go a long way to boosting Calgary’s playoff hopes.
8. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (8)
Record: 4-10
Week 16 result: L 37-25 vs. MTL
Week 17 opponent: @ EDM
Grey Cup odds: +6600
The Ti-Cats did all they could to complete a comeback against Montreal last week, however the early hole they dug themselves was too much to overcome. Hamilton is in a dark place as they’ve dropped four straight games and Bo Levi Mitchell is officially ruled out for the year. Even running the table the rest of the season likely won’t be enough for the Tabbies to make the playoffs.
9. Ottawa RedBlacks (9)
Record: 0-13
Week 16 result: L 48-30 @ CGY
Week 17 opponent: vs. CGY
Any hopes of the playoffs are long gone in Ottawa. At this point, the 0-13 RedBlacks are playing for pride and trying to avoid becoming the worst team in CFL history. They have five more chances to get that elusive first dub of the season.
