Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever WNBA preview and prediction
After some last-second heroics on Monday, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever return home to host the reeling Chicago Sky Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.
Clark had 19 points, including a game-winning three-pointer with 1.2 seconds left, as the Fever defeated the host Washington Mystics 78-76, who blew a 17-point second-half lead. Kelsey Mitchell had 15 points for Indiana, while Aliyah Boston chipped in with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Sky lost for the seventh time in eight games on Tuesday, an 82-75 setback at home to the Atlanta Dream. Angel Reese returned to Chicago for the first time since being traded in the offseason and dropped 17 points and 17 rebounds on her former team.
Natasha Cloud led the Sky with 18 points off the bench. Skylar Diggins had 17 points, followed by Kamilla Cardoso with 13 points and five assists, and Azura Stevens with eight points and seven rebounds.
Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever WNBA Odds and Betting Trends
Indiana is a heavy -9.5 favourite on the WNBA odds with a -450 moneyline. Meanwhile, Chicago is at +150. Indiana swept all five games last year, winning by an average of 23.8 points. In fact, the Fever are 8-1 straight up and 9-0 against the spread against Chicago over the past two seasons.
The over/under for this contest is 172. These teams have played to the over 16 times in their past 20 meetings, including the last five in Indianapolis.
Chicago Sky
There is plenty of time left in the season, but Chicago’s 2026 campaign went off the rails when Rickea Jackson tore her left ACL last month. The third-year forward, who came over from Los Angeles in a trade during the offseason, was averaging 22 points through her first three games before she went down early against Dallas on May 17.
The team was 3-1 after beating the Wings that night; they are 1-7 since. Veteran Skylar Diggins (14.6 PPG, 4.5 AST) and third-year centre Kamilla Cardoso (12.3 PPG, 9.0 REB, 1.9 BLK) need more help.
Rookie Gabriela Jacquez (10.4 PPG, 4.9 REB) could be the key third piece moving forward. She missed four games earlier with a left knee injury and had just three points and four rebounds in 19 minutes against the Dream on Tuesday, but the former UCLA star is being counted on to help fill the massive hole caused by Jackson’s absence.
Indiana Fever
Clark’s back soreness is probably going to be an issue for Indiana all season, but she’s already played 10 games this year after appearing in just 13 in 2025. She is listed as probable again on Thursday, so expect her on the court.
Reserve guard Sophie Cunningham (8.7 PPG) could be a different story, however, as she is questionable with some elbow soreness. She had eight points and three assists in 23 minutes against Washington on Monday.
WNBA Prediction: Who will win Sky vs. Fever?
Five of the Sky’s seven losses since losing Jackson have come by double digits, with an average margin of defeat during this stretch of 12.9 points.
It may not get better against a Fever side that has won by an average of 12 points during its four-game home win streak. Look for Indiana to win and cover the large spread, 90-80.
