2026 WNBA All-Star Game Preview, Predictions, and Best Bets

With this being the league’s 30th anniversary, Hall of Famers Cynthia Cooper, who won four WNBA titles with the Houston Comets, and Teresa Weatherspoon, a standout player and coach in the league, are serving as honorary captains.

Teams were drafted last week, with Las Vegas Aces coach Becky Hammon leading Team Cooper and Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve guiding Team Spoon. 

Second-year Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers and third-year Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark were the top vote-getters. They were immediately placed on Team Coop and Team Spoon, respectively. 

Four-time MVP and three-time WNBA champion A’ja Wilson (Team Spoon) and two-time MVP Breanna Stewart (Team Coop) were the first two draft picks.

Team Spoon vs. Team Coop 2026 WNBA All-Star Game Odds and Betting Trends

Team Spoon, consisting of Clark, Wilson, Rookie-of-the-Year favourite Olivia Miles of the Lynx and Atlanta’s Allisha Gray, is a -4.5 road favourite with a -165 money line, while Team Coop sits at +130. 

The over/under for this contest is 276.5. The WNBA All-Star Game total has only surpassed that number once before, but it was last year when the two teams combined to score 282 points. Recently, the contest has started to mirror that of the NBA, becoming more and more of a scoring fest with little-to-no defence played. 

Best Bet #1: Team Spoon -4.5 points

Clark and Wilson in the same starting lineup? Yes please! Wilson, named to her eighth straight All-Star Game, leads the league in scoring at 26.1 points per game. Clark, an All-Star for the third straight year, is fourth in the league at 21.0 points per game and second in assists with 7.9 per contest. 

Meanwhile, Bueckers was banged up against the Sparks on Sunday and missed the Wings’ loss to New York the next night. She did play in Dallas’s final game before the break, scoring 21 points, but she could play considerably less than expected.

Kelsey Plum is out for Team Coop. She has dealt with injuries throughout the season and was already replaced by Phoenix’s Kahleah Copper. 

Meanwhile, Miles, who is averaging 19.3 points, 6.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds, is the new potential superstar on display in the All-Star Game. She joins Wilson and Clark on Team Spoon, which has three sets of teammates, while Team Coop has 11 players from 11 different teams. 

Best Bet #2: Total Over 276.5 points

Last year’s 151-131 Team Collier victory over Team Clark wasn’t an aberration. The contest is becoming less of a grind on both ends and more of a true exhibition. 

With Copper replacing Plum, 17 of the WNBA’s top 20 scorers are present in Chicago Saturday night, led by Wilson, Indiana’s Kelsey Mitchell (23.3 pg), Stewart (21.1 ppg), Clark (21 ppg) and Toronto’s Marina Mabrey (21 ppg) – a first-time All-Star and the expansion Tempo’s first representative in the midseason classic.

Shots will be taken from all over the court, frontcourt players will look for easy baskets inside, and nobody is looking to play in-your-face defence. 

Best Bet #3: A’ja Wilson MVP (+700)

For all of her regular-season accolades and postseason success, Wilson has never been named the All-Star Game MVP. In fact, the only Aces player to receive the award was Plum in 2022 before she joined the Los Angeles Sparks.

There are plenty of other attractive WNBA All Star betting options to consider, of course. Miles and Clark are co-favourites to win the award at +600. Bueckers and Mitchell join Wilson on the +700 line. Atlanta’s Rhyne Howard and Mabrey are also attractive options at +1200, followed by Gray (+1400) and Stewart (+1800). 

Los Angeles’s Nneka Ogwumike, who tied Diana Taurasi for second-most WNBA All-Star Game selections historically with 11, is a feel-good longshot at +3500. 

However, the award is Wilson’s to lose. She stays quiet while the world debates who is the “face of the league” and WNBA’s best player, and all she does is produce. She often gets lost in the limelight of All-Star Weekend, but not tomorrow night. The alpha is going to roar.
