UFC Odds: Ronda Rousey Will Win Back UFC Belt

Ronda Rousey may have been down for the count at UFC 193, but she’s far from out. New odds suggest she’ll win back her belt this year.

Even though Ronda Rousey lost her Ultimate Fighting Championship title when Holly Holm knocked her out at UFC 193, UFC odds have Rousey as a +110 favourite to be the Bantamweight champion at the end of 2016 with Holm just on her heels on the odds board.

Right now, that might be a little surprising when you consider Rousey admitted she wouldn’t be able to face contact for up to six months after her loss in November. However, Rousey has just begun training again as she makes the media rounds this week.

She’ll be on the sidelines as Holly Holm defends the Banatamweight title against Rousey’s longtime nemesis Meisha Tate in the UFC 196 co-main event on March 5 in Las Vegas. UFC betting odds list Holm as the -420 favourite in that fight and the winner is likely to face Rousey when she is ready to return to the octagon. Early speculation says that rematch likely won’t take place until November.

For now, Rousey is beginning to open up about the first loss of her career, admitting short-lived suicidal thoughts and how her busy schedule may have hurt her leading up to UFC 193.

“I think the one thing that was different was that it was my third title fight in nine months and I don’t think anyone has ever attempted that before,” Ronda recent said on Ellen. “Of course I want to fight Holly. I want to beat her.”
