Thursday was all about pageantry, celebrating the beautiful game and Brazil, the host nation for World Cup 2014. Brazil played the part with a dramatic 3-1 victory over Croatia in the opening game of the competition with superstar Neymar providing a brace.

With that out of the way, Friday is when the tournament really kicks off with a bang.

World Cup 2014 Match Odds

Mexico vs. Cameroon, Noon ET.

Odds: Mexico +107 favorite, Cameroon +289 underdog. Draw +232.

This is going to be a fun match with two squads that aren’t afraid to push the pace. However, both have had their problems heading into the tournament. Mexico barely qualified thanks to a USA win in the last qualifier and Cameroon is squabbling with its administration over bonus money.

Spain vs. Netherlands, 3 p.m. ET.

Odds: Spain -137 favorite, Netherlands +417 underdog. Draw +258.

The World Cup schedule couldn’t have worked out any better than this. Spain defeated Holland in the 2010 World Cup finals and looks very dangerous again this time around. The Netherlands are looking for revenge and provide a nice option for underdog bettors early. Nobody would be surprised if this one ended in a draw today.

Chile vs. Australia, 6 p.m. ET

Odds: Chile -253 favorite, Australia +800 underdog. Draw +376.

The lovable Socceroos won’t back down from anyone, but are likely in over their head in Group B. Chile is a talented side that will put Australia on its heels. Expect to see Chile dominate the possession game and eventually break down the Australians at the back and take control of this match in the second half.
