Major League Soccer is suspending its 2020 season until further notice as the coronavirus outbreak continues. In a statement released today, the league said it will “communicate plans for the continuation of the 2020 season at the appropriate time.”

“Our clubs were united today in the decision to temporarily suspend our season — based on the advice and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Public Health Agency of Canada and other public health authorities,” MLS Commissioner Don Garber said in a statement Thursday.

The official statement came not long after after Toronto FC cancelled a practice at BMO Field.

The Seattle Sounders announced yesterday that their coming game against FC Dallas has been postponed after the Governor banned large gatherings.
