2026 FA Cup Odds, Prediction: Wrexham vs. Chelsea
The fifth round of the FA Cup heads to north Wales on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. ET, with Wrexham looking to slay English giant Chelsea.
Both teams should be confident entering this match. The Red Dragons enter on a three-game win streak in the Championship, while the Blues just beat up on Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Chelsea is a -225 favourite to win on the FA Cup odds, while Wrexham is a +525 underdog and a draw is listed at +400. The total is pegged at 3.5.
FA Cup odds and betting trends
With Chelsea being a perennial Premier League contender and Wrexham never playing in the top flight of the English football pyramid, it’s no surprise there’s not much history between these clubs.
In nine all-time meetings, Chelsea has four wins, Wrexham has two and three matches have ended in a draw. However, these teams haven’t met in a competitive game since February 1982, when Wrexham beats Chelsea 1-0.
Wrexham has reached the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 1996-97. Chelsea is one of the most successful clubs in tournament history, winning the FA Cup eight times between 1970 and 2018.
The 2026 FA Cup has been whittled down from 124 teams to 16 entering the fifth round. At +600 on the FA Cup futures board, Chelsea boasts the fourth-shortest odds to win the FA Cup of all remaining teams. The Red Dragons have the third-longest odds at +10,000.
Wrexham A.F.C.
Chasing a fourth consecutive promotion, you simply can never count out pesky Wrexham. My worry for this game is Wrexham’s focus on a promotion to the Premier League as they have a massive league game against Hull City, who they are chasing in the standings, on Tuesday.
However, this team is humming at the moment. They’ve only lost two of 15 games since Boxing Day and they have four wins and a draw in their last five. Kieffer Moore leads the club with 11 goals in 32 Championship games, while Josh Windass was the hero in the fourth round of the FA Cup against Ipswich Town. Arthur Okonkwo has also been superb, with nine clean sheets in league play and a game-saving save against Ipswich.
Chelsea F.C.
Chelsea also has cause to be distracted in this game. The Blues are chasing down a top-five finish in the Premier League and they’re set to travel to Paris on Wednesday to face PSG in the first leg of their Round of 16 Champions League matchup.
Chelsea is coming off a 4-1 blowout win over Aston Villa in Premier League action and they also dominated Hull City 4-0 in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The attack runs through Joao Pedro, who is fourth in the Premier League with 14 goals. However, they’ll need a bit more from Cole Palmer, who scored in the win over Aston Villa, but has generally looked burned out all season. Palmer has been limited to nine Premier League goals and he hasn’t played anywhere near his capabilities.
