Cyle Larin

World Cup 2022 - Canada

Top Goalscorer
  • Cyle Larin +627

Cyle Larin plays for Club Brugge in the top flight of the Belgian league.  A former MLS Rookie of the Year, Larin is already Canada’s top all-time scorer on the men’s side, with 25 international goals in 54 appearances.  He dominated CONCACAF qualifying with 14 goals in 13 appearances in 2021 and added another three goals in 2022.  Consistency has been Larin’s biggest strength.  He has elite finishing ability and will likely line up alongside Jonathan David, with Alphonso Davies driving the attack from behind.

Alphonso Davies

World Cup 2022 - Canada

Top Goalscorer
  • Alphonso Davies -222

Davies is the most recognizable name for Canada and the face of Canadian men’s soccer.  The 22-year-old plays as a left-back for German powerhouse Bayern Munich and already has a shelf of awards, including Bundesliga Rookie of the Year and a UEFA Champions League title.  Davies’ elite speed allows him to take over games.  He’s a creative dribbler and a versatile option who can play almost anywhere in the lineup.  Davies also has a penchant for scoring big goals in big moments and there will be no goal bigger on the men’s side than Canada’s first World Cup goal.

Jonathan David

World Cup 2022 - Canada

Top Goalscorer
  • Jonathan David +509

David is having a great season with French club Lille, which he helped win a Ligue 1 championship in 2021.  This season he currently sits third in Ligue 1 scoring with nine goals, which only trails the Paris Saint-Germain duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, who each have 11.  Through 13 games, David has nearly matched his 15-goal output from last season.  The 2019 Canadian Men’s Player of the year is also tied with Dwayne De Rosario for second on the all-time Canadian men’s scoring list with 22 goals in 34 appearances.
