Kazan Arena, Kazan, Russia

There is a history between these two nations. Poland and Colombia have met a total of seven times in international competition, with Poland winning two games, Colombia winning four games, and drawing in the other game. But, all those records are not significant, as the last time these two countries met was back in 2006 (Colombia 2-1).

Many people questioned Colombia’s Manager Jose Pekerman for keeping midfielder James Rodriquez on the bench against Japan; in fact Rodriquez only played 31 minutes of that game. Look for Rodriquez to start this match against Poland, and is paying +235 to score in this game.

Poland

A couple of miscues led to two goals against, and a loss to surprising Senegal. Because of those faults, there has been some talk Manager Adam Nawalka may start back-up goaltender Lukasz Fabinski in place of starter Wojciech Szczesny. At the start of the tournament the debate could be made that Poland clearly does not have a clear cut starting goaltender. This final decision would be evidence of that. Also, Poland was accused of playing too conservative against Senegal – that could change as well against Colombia.

Fingers are pointing at star striker Robert Lewandowski who made only two registered shots, and one on target. Lewandowski is paying +130 to score at any time, and +396 to be the first goal scorer of the game. Of note, winger Jakub Blaszczykowski is listed as doubtful for this game, as he was subbed off at halftime against Senegal with an injury.

Colombia

Colombia got off to a terrible start in their first game versus Japan, three minutes in to the match when Carlos Sanchez was accessed a red card for a hand ball inside the crease, then conceded a penalty kick six minutes into the game. They eventually tied it up, but were worn down as they gave up the winning goal in the 73rd minute to fall to the Blue Samurai 2-1. Bad news for Colombia as Sanchez will serve his mandatory one game suspension for the red card. Of note, Colombia have struggled against European teams at the World Cup, winning only two of their last nine games.
