MLS match prediction: FC Cincinnati vs. Toronto FC odds
Cincinnati opened the season with an impressive 2-0 win over Atlanta United, featuring goals from Kevin Denkey and Nick Hagglund. However, the club lost two-time Landon Donovan MLS MVP finalist Evander early in that match to a leg injury. He was absent last week as the team dropped a 1-0 decision at Minnesota United. Will he return Sunday night?
Meanwhile, Toronto FC’s rebuild was just bolstered by the signing of US international Josh Sargent. The club is off to a rocky start in 2026, surrendering three goals in two consecutive road losses. Will Sargent make his debut?
Full list of this weekend’s MLS odds.
FC Cincinnati vs. Toronto FC betting odds
Cincinnati swept the two meetings between the clubs last season by a combined 3-0 score. They are 1-0 against the spread at home and have played to the under in both games. Toronto is 0-1-1 against the spread and played to the Under in last week’s 3-0 defeat to Vancouver.
FC Cincinnati is a -120 favourite on the three-way money line, while Toronto is a +320 underdog, and the draw sits at +260. The Over/Under is 2.5; the Over has -130 odds, while the Under carries a +100 price.
FC Cincinnati
Evander is the difference-maker for this club. He posted a club-best 18 goals and 15 assists last season after arriving from Portland. His absence was notable last week as Cincinnati managed just one xG against Minnesota. Denkey has already opened his account after scoring 15 goals for Cincinnati a year ago. The Togo international is a threat to score in every match.
Miles Robinson has again been superb from his CB position, and goalkeeper Roman Celentano has conceded just one goal while making seven saves in two matches. Ecuadorian Bryan Ramirez eased the loss of Luca Orellano in midfield, while Pavel Bucha has stabilized both the offence and defence from his deep midfield position.
Toronto FC
Toronto badly needed a signing like Sargent, who combined for 76 goals and 24 assists during his time in Europe with Norwich City and Werder Bremen. He should be pencilled in at the No. 9 position starting Sunday. The club, which has not reached the postseason in five years, began its rebuild in earnest late last season, bringing in Djordje Mihailovic, who has five goals and four assists since joining from Colorado. He scored in the club’s 3-2 season-opening loss to FC Dallas.
Walker Zimmerman, a four-time All-Star and two-time MLS Defender of the Year, arrived from Nashville, but six goals allowed in two matches mean both he and goalkeeper Luka Gavran, who’s made just one save in two matches, need to step up their games.
Who Will Win FC Cincinnati v. Toronto FC?
There’s a lot of ‘ifs’ heading into this matchup. What will Cincinnati do if Evander can’t go again? Will Gerardo Valenzuela again be the answer? If Sargent is ready, will he start or come off the bench for Toronto? If new CB Benjamin Kuscevic is ready, will he get the nod from coach Robin Fraser?
With so much fluid on both sides, we’ll go with Cincinnati at home. They have looked the stronger side through the first two matches and should still be that way on Sunday night. Look for them to post a 2-1 victory.
