Switzerland FIFA World Cup Odds and News
Entering the World Cup as the clear favourites to win Group B, it was a hugely disappointing result for Switzerland after settling for a draw against a significantly weaker Qatar side. A Breel Embolo penalty gave the Swiss the lead at the 17-minute mark, but a late own-goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time cost Switzerland two points. As it stands now, the group stage finale between Switzerland and Canada will likely decide the winner of Group B.
On the plus side for Switzerland, they controlled large portions of the game against Qatar and they emerged fully healthy. A-Team will likely rely on the same core of Embolo, Manuel Akanji, Nico Elvedi and Granit Xhaka to control the flow of play against Bosnia.
Bosnia-Herzegovina FIFA World Cup Odds and News
Although Bosnia had the same result as Switzerland in their opening game, they have to be more satisfied as the lowest ranked team in the group. Jovo Lukic gave the Bosnians a lead at the 21-minute mark before the host side pushed back and tied the game in the second half. Because of the draw against Canada, even if Bosnia loses against Switzerland, they still have a path to qualifying for the knockout round with a win against Qatar.
Unfortunately, there are a few injury concerns for Bosnia, particularly on defence. Sead Kolasinac limped off the field against Canada and his status is up in the air on Thursday. The team will also be without Nidal Celik for the tournament after he suffered an injury in training. Celik was replaced on the roster by Arjan Malic.
Switzerland vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina Player Odds and Props
Switzerland dictates the style of play with clean ball movement to the outside that leads to a good amount of chances for Ruben Vargas, who had three shots against Qatar.
Jovo Lukic anytime goal (+360)
With Edin Dzeko not projected to draw into the Starting XI, Jovo Lukic will lead the attack for Bosnia.
World Cup 2026 Bracket and Futures
Although they failed to secure the extra two points against Qatar, Switzerland remains a +100 favourite to win Group B, closely followed by Canada at +150. Switzerland and Canada are -800 co-favourites to qualify for the knockout round.
Bosnia is a +500 long shot to win the group, but they are a healthy -275 to advance. Even if Bosnia doesn’t finish top two in the group, they still have a solid shot at the knockout round as the top eight third-place teams will also move on.
Switzerland vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina Score Prediction
Final score prediction: Switzerland 2 | Bosnia-Herzegovina 1
With their toughest match of the group stage against co-host Canada looming, Switzerland needs a win here. A-Team will come out hard offensively and secure three crucial points.
