France vs. Spain Semifinal Prediction: FIFA World Cup Odds, Betting Picks
France is headed to the semifinals for a third straight World Cup as they prepare to face European champions Spain on Tuesday.
Les Blues have been on a dominant run at this year’s World Cup, outscoring their last three opponents 6-0, including a 2-0 win over Morocco in the quarterfinals.
La Roja escaped Belgium 2-1 in the quarters after beginning the tournament with five straight clean sheets.
Which of these European giants will survive and advance to the final against either Argentina or England?

France FIFA World Cup Odds and News
France has already established itself as a world powerhouse as they look to become just the third nation to reach three straight World Cup finals after Germany and Brazil. Les Blues have been a lethal offence, ranking second in the tournament in goals (16), second in attempts at goal (110) and first in attempts on target (47). Everything runs through superstar Kylian Mbappe, who is tied with Argentina’s Lionel Messi for the tournament lead in goals at eight apiece.
However, there also has to be concern regarding Mbappe. The Real Madrid forward came off in the second half of France’s quarterfinal win with what was described as a minor ankle sprain. Mbappe will play, but it’s fair to wonder if he is less than 100 per cent. Manu Kone also left early against Morocco with a knee injury, although he is also expected to be ready for Tuesday.
Spain FIFA World Cup Odds and News
Spain should come into this match with a lot of confidence after defeating France in seven of the last 10 head-to-heads. There were fireworks the last time these teams met in last year’s UEFA Nations League final, with La Roja claiming a wild 5-4 win. Mikel Merino scored in that game and he has also been clutch at this tournament as the first player in World Cup history to score the winning goal in two knockout games as a substitute.
Mikel Oyarzabal has paced Spain throughout the World Cup with a team-leading four goals. However, La Roja likely want to see more from Lamine Yamal. The Barcelona winger, who just turned 19 on Monday, was a key piece of Spain’s Euro 2024 run, but he’s largely been stifled in this tournament with only a single goal.
France vs. Spain Player Odds and Props
Kylian Mbappe anytime goal (+110)
This is an easy one as Mbappe is tied for the tournament lead in goals and attempts on target. There’s very little Spain can do to slow Mbappe down.
Lamine Yamal 2+ shots on target (+115)
We haven’t seen the best from Yamal yet, but he won’t bow out of the World Cup quietly. Trailing only Messi and Mbappe for most attempts on goal in the tournament, Yamal will need to be at his best for La Roja to stand a chance.
FIFA World Cup 2026 Bracket and Futures
Oddsmakers essentially have the winner of this game taking the World Cup as France is the tournament favourite at +140, followed by Spain at +333. England is actually level with La Roja at +333, while defending champion Argentina is +450.
When it comes to the Golden Boot race, it’s important to remember there is a third-place game. That means the current favourites, Mbappe and Messi, are each playing two more games, giving better value on the Argentine legend at plus-money.
France vs. Spain Score Prediction
Final score prediction: France 2 | Spain 1 (penalties)
This will be a highly entertaining game between the top two ranked teams in the world. I think they battle to a draw after extra time and France come out on top against a Spanish side that historically struggles in penalties.
