DR Congo vs. Uzbekistan betting odds
The Congolese take the night as -135 favourites, and they can still advance to the round of 32 if they beat their +330 opponents in Uzbekistan. A draw comes in priced at +320 odds, with over 2.5 goals and under 2.5 goals projected at near-even odds at -115 and -110, respectively.
DR Congo vs. Uzbekistan predicted starting XI lineups
DR Congo have found success in their standard by playing a five-back, allowing only one late goal this entire tournament. However, the setup was likely to counter the attacking force of both Colombia and Portugal, as they were only able to score one goal combined in those matches. A considerable win here is paramount, so they may switch to a 4-4-2 against Uzbekistan with the same personnel in an attempt to find more goals.
DR Congo predicted starting XI (4-4-2):
— Yoane Wissa (ST) – Cedric Bakambu (ST) —
Edo Kayembe (LM) – Samuel Moutoussamy (CM) – Ngal’ayel Mukau (CM) – Aaron
Wan-Bissaka (RM)
Arthur Masuaku (LB) – Steve Kapuadi (CB) – Axel Tuanzebe (CB) – Chancel
Mbemba (RB)
— Lionel Mpasi (GK) —
Uzbekistan are playing for a significant victory here after suffering two consecutive losses, as only a massive goal-differential win could save them here. The team set up in a three-back for both their games to this point and managed to score once, although this shape probably wasn’t the best tactic to use against Portugal and Colombia considering they went on to allow eight goals. They will want to score here, though, so it’s likely they’ll roll out a 3-4-3 shape once again.
Uzbekistan predicted starting XI (3-4-3):
– Oston Urunov (LW) – Eldor Shomurodov (CF) – Abbosbek Fayzullaev (RW)–
Sherzod Nasrullaev (LM), Otabek Shukurov (CM), Akmal Mozgovoy (CM), Sherzod
Behruzjon Karimov (RM)
Rustam Ashurmatov (CB) – Abdukodir Khusanov – Abdulla Abdullaev (CB)
— Utkir Yusupov (GK) —
DR Congo FIFA World Cup odds and news
The Congolese have played respectably so far this World Cup, drawing Portugal in their first match as Yoane Wissa went on to draw the game before halftime. Their defensive shape was nearly immaculate until Colombia broke through with a single goal. However, the African side only put up a combined 15 shots throughout both games and saw virtually none of the ball.
Their game plan will almost certainly change for the start of this game, as they’ll look to Cedric Bakambu and Yoane Wissa (+165 each) to score once again. After bagging at least two goals, they will pack it in with all 11 players in front of their net to seal the three points.
Uzbekistan FIFA World Cup odds and news
Uzbekistan have really had a rough time in this tournament with only four shots on target throughout both of their games. The Asian side only saw 33% possession combined, so now would be the time to improve ball security in an effort to create more chances. They require a massive multi-goal win to have any hope of being a third-place qualifying team, which isn’t likely.
Eldor Shoruodov is the team’s most likely anytime scorer at +250 odds, and more than anything, the team will want goals and a victory if they are to continue their 2026 FIFA World Cup run.
DR Congo vs. Uzbekistan player odds and props
● Abdukodir Khusanov (UZB) to commit 2+ fouls (-145)
Manchester City defender Khusanov has had a rough tournament so far, but he is as physical and mean as ever. Expect him to foul the Congolese at least twice here.
● Cedric Bakambu (COD) to record 2+ shots on target (+170)
Real Betis’s Bakambu has yet to score his first goal of the tournament, but he will certainly try his best as he’s already got three shots to his name.
World Cup 2026 bracket and futures
● Odds to qualify – DR Congo (-125), Uzbekistan (+1000)
● Odds to win the World Cup – DR Congo (+100000), Uzbekistan (+250000)
DR Congo vs. Uzbekistan score prediction
Neither team has showcased great offensive capabilities, and we have yet to see how either team fares with possession. DR Congo appear to have a solid defensive line, though, and would be the more likely team to see out a victory if they pull ahead first. However, due to both teams being in desperate need of a win and their lack of scoring abilities, bank on a 1-1 draw by the end of 90′.
