Paris 2024 Olympics: Team Canada Women’s Soccer Preview
The Canadian women’s soccer team has enjoyed Olympic success over the past 12 years, winning bronze in London 2012 and Rio 2016, and gold in Tokyo 2020. This summer, they aim for their fourth in a row.
2024 Paris Olympics Overview
The tournament runs from July 25 to August 10 across seven French cities. Twelve teams are divided into three groups. The top two in each group, plus the two best third-place teams, advance to the quarter-finals. The final will be at Parc des Princes in Paris. Unlike the men’s under-23 competition, there are no age restrictions for the women’s teams.
How Canada Qualified
Canada qualified by defeating Jamaica in a playoff after finishing second and third, respectively, in the 2022 Concacaf W Championship. Canada won the two-leg series 2-0 and 2-1.
