The roster features 23 players, with 13 of them returning from the 2018 team that lost the gold medal to the United States. Since women’s hockey was added to the Olympic Games in 1998, Canada has won four gold and two silver medals.

Canada vs Switzerland Olympic Odds and Betting

Team Canada is favoured to win their opening game. The all-time record between these two teams is Canada 13, Switzerland 0.

The Canadians last took the ice with the Swiss team in the semifinal round of the Women’s Worlds in August. They won that game 4-0 after outshooting the Swiss team 62-10. Melodie Daoust scored twice in the game, and Ann-Renee Desbiens earned the shutout.

Team Canada

Canada’s elite roster this year will feature ten Olympic rookies and 13 returning veterans. Marie-Philip Poulin, Mélodie Daoust, Rebecca Johnston, Jocelyne Larocque, Brianne Jenner, Emma Maltais and Natalie Spooner are the core veterans on this team and they’re all previous gold medal winners. Ten rookies are the most that Canada has ever brought to an Olympic tournament.

Poulin and Johnston are back on the ice for their fourth Olympics, and on the hunt for their third gold medal.
