Minnesota was hot just before the All-Star break, winning nine of their last 10 games. Winnipeg, on the other hand, is looking for a win after dropping seven of their last eight games, including four of their last five at home.
The Wild are a slight -157 favourite to win with NHL odds, with a total of 6.0 goals.
Wild vs. Jets NHL Betting Odds
This is the third meeting of the season between the Wild and Jets. The Wild lead the season series 2-0, having scored 13 goals in those games. Over the last 10 games between these two teams, the Wild have won eight of them. There is a reason why the Wild are favoured in this one.
In the past six contests, the favourite is 5-1. The only thing going in favour of the Jets is the fact the home team is 5-1 in the last six meetings. But, all the numbers say Minnesota should win this one.
Minnesota Wild
Offensively, the Wild have excelled this season. Minnesota has scored three or more goals in 10 straight games. Kirill Kaprizov leads the team with 53 points after a slow start to the season. Kaprizov has recorded at least one point in 14 straight games. Mats Zuccarello is right behind Kaprizov with 42 points and has found the scoresheet in nine of his last 10 games. Ryan Hartman continues to have a great year with 18 goals, just one behind Kaprizov for the team in lead.
Defence and goaltending has been pretty good for the Wild this season. Both Cam Talbot and Kaapo Kahkonen have performed well. Kahkonen has found his form from last season and picked up wins in his last six starts.
Winnipeg Jets
The Jets have been a disappointment this season and currently sit 13th in the Western Conference. They are nine points behind the Calgary Flames and if they want to make the playoffs, they need to go on a hot streak.
Winnipeg has not looked the same since Mark Scheifele’s suspension in the playoffs last season. The Jets needs more from Scheifele, as he has just 29 points in 36 games this year. Kyle Connor leads the team with 45 points and has scored a goal in five of his last seven games.
Defence and goaltending has been a letdown for the Jets. Connor Hellebuyck is having a below average season, with a 2.90 GAA and .910 SV. Those are not the numbers of a Vezina Trophy winner. Backup Eric Comrie has at least played when given the opportunity. Comrie has a 2.34 GAA and .920 SV and has not allowed more than three goals in any game this season.
