NHL Odds and Betting Analysis
There’s a lot of juice to lay here with Nashville but they’ve done a good job of paying out as a favorite. As mentioned, they’ve won 10 of 12 and those two losses came when they were posted as a dog. Vancouver has frequently been a dog this season and while they paid out nicely in October, they’ve struggled in November. They are 5-9 this month, costing bettors 2.8 units. They are also just 4-9 against teams with a winning record and have lost three straight in this series. The trends aren’t in their favor.
Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks fell to 11-10-4 as they were down 3-1 by the end of the first period in New York against the Islanders, and wound up losing 5-2, despite getting 31 saves from Anders Nilsson. They’ve had an issue between the pipes of late as they haven’t allowed less than two goals in a game since October 24th and they’ve allowed 3.21 in the month of November, which is the fourth-worst number.
The good news for them is that they are 8-5-1 on the road. Like much of their success, though, that came early. They won five of their first six road games but have dropped three straight away games.

Nashville Predators
The Predators went to 15-6-1 after a 3-2 win at home over Chicago, Filip Forsberg, Austin Watson and Roman Josi all found the back of the net for the Predators, while Pekka Rinne made 37 saves to give Nashville the win. The Predators have now won 10 of their last 12 games overall and they’re solid at both ends of the ice, ranking 11th in goals scored and eighth in goals against, and they’re great on special teams, ranking third on the power play and fourth in penalty killing.
They’re a tough team to beat at home as they are 9-1-1 in front of their own audience. That’s the best home record in the NHL. They’ve yet to lose at home in regulation with Rinne in net (9-0-1). Their offense really clicks at home as they score just 2.38 goals per game on the road (28th in the NHL) but that number jumps to 3.91 when they’re at home (fifth-best).
What will help their cause is that the Canucks are in the final game of a long road trip. This will be Vancouver’s last stop on a six-game road trip, which has spanned 10 days. That’s a lot of traveling.
Canucks vs. Predators Prediction:
Predators 5-3
